I saw a video in my Youtube accounts "Related Videos" about SMW hacking, and I felt inclined to come back to this site. I haven't made a post since last Thanksgiving.
So I'm wondering if this was an intentional thing and I missed it, or if it's just my computer. I had my Adblock on when I visited the site (it used to be whitelisted for this site, but I guess it wore off since I hadn't logged in for a while), and there was no banner or background theme. Did you guys make it a requirement that your Adblock extension must be turned off to view these?

That's only in the standard scheme and whether or not it is intentional I don't know, but it shouldn't really matter because SURELY YOU SUPPORT THIS SITE ENOUGH TO TURN OFF YOUR ADBLOCK.

For me it's the opposite; only the default site scheme has a background and banner with adblock on. So I disabled it.
Honestly why do people have so many problems with barely noticeable things on the site like ads, pony djs, etc.?

I whitelisted the site so my adblock turns off when I visit. And it's the same deal on my brower as Derpy's (I use Chrome and Windows XP).
I guess it's not a big deal, but I am wondering what the deal was, or whether it was intentional or not.

Because they're animated and they draw your attention. I AdBlock almost anything distracting - that stupid muncher that flew around the screen, the pony, ads, etc.

I don't mind the ads here or much anything at this site. I just deal with it like a person is supposed to. There are, however, a few images I block which aren't from here or supported officially (other user images) due to random reasons. Sadly when I try to allow project wonderful, it still doesn't work, which is silly in my opinion. You have to disable it completely on this site for that white list to work but that then means all your blacklists are off. You'd think the thing you allow would tell the current site you aren't blocking it. Oh well. Perhaps they may redo the white/black listing thing eventually. I don't want to block everything or nothing.
Although to be honest, there is nothing I am actively blocking so it can for the moment just stay off. Youtube is the main place I use adblock.

blocking the ads is useless anyways because it reveals the white bar of doom.

It doesn't show that for me. Then again, I also have some other adblocking measures going on that redirects certain things. I made an exception for this site though so I am not sure why it doesn't show that bar like it used to when adblock is on.

I blocked it because it's easy to predict exactly where it's pulling it from.
