Hello there and welcome to my C3 thread! Well, here's my hack again, after (another) long-long break. I'm not saying I worked on it a lot (unfortunately), but there's plenty of new stuff.
Some changes I made:
- using RPG Hacker's VWF Dialogues patch instead of Romi's VWF Tool (the story plays a big part in the hack, so it's very important)
- using AddmusicM instead of Romi's/HuFlungDu's Addmusic (brr samples yeeah)
- using Tessera instead of Romi's Spritetool (more sprite variations and stuff, though a bit laggy [yet])
- changed a bunch of global graphics (Yoshi coin, blocks etc.)
- using custom SFX for Yoshi coin, midway point and some more
So you can imagine that all of these porting, changing took a bit of time (converting all the ports to AMM-format, all the sprites to Tessera-format etc.).
But I've also had time to make a completely new level!
The plot:
Mario has to travel through the desert, but the only way is taking the train. The only problem is, bandits have blocked down the railway, so only people with special permission are able to travel. Luckily, Mario has already got the password when the video starts (you'll have to get it in the level before).
I hope you'll like it.
Aaaand here are the screenshots:
New in the oasis level: bouncing on water springs! (disregard the status bar here)
Lots of stuff in Mario's House (some palettes might change).
Mario likes his fridge for sure.
And his couch, too!
Such a beautiful view from here...
Can't we do anything against the bandits?
Sounds like fun!
Totally understandable.
Well, that explains why is he walking around on the table.
A rest? Just what I needed!
What might this dark place be..?
Creepy cave...
That eye is coming at me!
Waaah! A moving skull!
I don't really like the look of this...
When will this nightmare finally end?
A bonus: an animated version of this picture I've already shown in the Screenshots & Videos thread. Maybe not the very best rain effect, but it looks good in my opinion.
Well, that's it. I know it's not that much, considering I haven't shown anything in a long time, but I hope I'll be able to pick up this project again, and work more efficently on it.
Hope you like the thread, and don't forget to comment, constructive criticism, compliments, all are welcome!
