[title] (Demo 2 release!)

Just setting this thread up for [title], my hack I'm working on. I just need to finish up a level and some more testing and I can get a demo up.

After the last C3, I took a break from working on the hack, and only started up again 2 or 3 months ago. I've also had to balance this and a college workload, so this will only be a 2-world demo. D:

I don't have the hack ready, and I would want to spread out releases throughout C3 anyway, so have some graphics to tide you over:

Mushroom top graphics:

It also comes in yellow and blue!

Check on the thread every once in a while, I'll have a demo up as soon as I finish. :D
At first, I thought those mushroom tops looked flatly colored. That could just be because I shade my mushroom platforms differently while you appear to be going for a more symmetrical look, possibly to save 8x8/Map16 space. They still look pretty good, and their simplicity allows them to blend well with the vanilla background.

Oh man, I really like those mushrooms. They're part of my favorite SMW tileset, and, as Gamma has stated, they seem to blend well with vanilla, making them even easier to use. I'm definitely getting these!
IT'S A DEMO

EDIT: Just wanted to get that out of the way. Time for a short readme of sorts:

This is a hack in which I've been working on and off (mostly off, definitely) for the past year. The thought when I first started was to find fun applications for Noobish Noobsicle's walljump and Yoshi flutterjump patches, and just try to integrate them into the hack. Then I came up with the idea to give all normal (blue/red) levels secret exits (*hint hint*). Then I decided to use the hack as a motivational tool to make more tileset graphics. So it's just been a bunch of things for me.

Some things about the gameplay:
- Walljumping is done, while hugging a wall, by moving towards the wall and pressing the jump button. Move in the direction of your jump immediately for maximum distance.
- While riding Yoshi, you can do a flutterjump by holding the jump button while in the air. If you're high enough in the air and you hold down the button, you can do more than one flutterjump.
- There are different denominations of coins. Yellow is 1, green is 2, blue is 3, and red is 5.
- Also note that the coins spin differently, and typically groups of coins appear to spin in certain directions. If for some reason you are lost, look for some coins.
- One of the switch blocks, gray, works opposite of the other blocks. It is solid and acts like a cement block until the switch is hit, when it becomes a dotted outline. The gray switch is not in this demo.
- All levels marked with a red or blue icon have secret exits in them. Red icon levels' secret exits will lead you to new levels (although not all do in this demo), but what do blue levels unlock?
i'm really diggin' on this demo release of [title]. i was a big fan of mario's walk home so finding out you were working on something new got me excited. i really love how you integrated the new physics and blocks added into that same old SMW platforming style. it adds a whole new element to the gameplay to be explored and i don't think it leaves anything to be desired. i'm very pleased with this demo and am looking forward to a full release. nice job.
There's no way in hell I'll let this thread stay near the bottom of the second page during the last bit of C3. You crazy?
So after a lot of doing nothing, I fixed up a few more things and submitted the demo to the site. If you've played the demo I already put up, there's not much of a difference between the two, but if you want to play it or review it or whatever, click the link below.

EDIT: I forgot you can't review something unless it's accepted. #w{=P}
