[Online "Tool"] PNG Color Viewer

This is a very simple script that I threw together a few weeks ago for my own needs, and that I'm now releasing for the heck of it.

It works like this: You input a PNG file (yep, no other formats supported), and get a list of the colors it uses, sorted by frequency (the color that occurs most often being at the top).

As I said, it's very primitive (no fancy CSS, no error handling, no other features), so use it at your own risk. It might still be useful, though - for example, if you want to manually reduce the amount of colors in an image and need to know which colors are safest to remove. (Then again, Vitor Vilela's new tool might obsolete this entirely. Meh.)

Anyway, here's the link. No source for you this time though - the code's pretty horrible if I do say so myself.

Just like Vitor's tool, this will be extremely useful for ripping. Great work

Uh, it gave me a virus warning:

It gave me a script error when I inserted a PNG file.
Weird, the tool works fine for me. Maybe it's just the antivirus.

That's... very weird to say the least. All I can tell you is that I'm not getting any errors (neither virus warning nor a script error), so I'm not able to help you guys there.

And to be brutally honest, I'm not willing either. This was like a "hey this is in working condition might as well release this for the lulz" sort of thing. Sorry people.

Is it working for anyone at all, actually? Phew, it is. Good to hear that, Neutron/Electron.

It works perfectly here.

Definitely useful for ripping so you know exactly how many colors there are.
