That is amazing. The way you made the player move so much better is a huge improvement to SMW. These improved physics are surely done by using lots and lots of ASM. THis must have taken you decades to program. Well done.

My mind got blown, and then my mind got blown again. The physics in this hack is the most amazing thing ever.

How exactly does it work? Is the game just storing random values to Mario's X and Y speeds?

Basically yes, but the values are limited (between somewhere around -$40 to +$40, with $08 being added if the value is negative, so you end up moving right rather than forever being stuck on the first few screens unless you get really lucky
