RE: Jimmy's level: To those who have actually played the level, you might have inferred a few things. First of all, it is obviously technically amazing .. but you may have also figured out that this one is incredibly difficult to judge because it changes around the game engine. It is basically rendered incomparable to the other entries - how would it be ranked? Therefore, I've come up with an alternate solution for this entry. Instead of giving him a numerical score, I'm going to issue him an "Honorary Mention" trophy. In that sense, I'm recognizing the vast amount of effort he put into the entry, but at the same time I'm keeping it fair for the rest of the competitors.
Yes, I understand that no matter which option I decided on here that someone will complain, but this is the best route to take in my mind, so I'm sorry if you disagree.
That being said, this was certainly a great contest and we were very impressed by some of the entries. Congratulations to the winners and everyone else who even managed to produce something - it was a tough one.

Oh hey, out of the three winning levels I've only "played" YCZ's one. I can already tell Sind and yogui have deserved it, though - congratulations to you guys, and to everyone else who participated.
Didn't expect my entry to rank fairly well either. Yay, I suppose.

14th? Not too bad, I suppose. Sind definitely deserved it, as well as leod being placed so high, his entry was just very clever. I must say I'm surprised by a few entries high up there, though. Anyway, congrats to the winners, this sure was a fun contest! :>

I really couldn't be more happy with the result, I expected to score somewhere on the lower places.

Woah, 10th. Much better than I was expecting, considering how awesome some of the entries were. Top 2 were my favorite entries also, so hey, funny coincidences~ Grats Sind.

Hey I think I did pretty well. Honorary mentionth place. Not bad. :P
In all seriousness though, I think the actual design of my entry could have been better, I ended up focusing too much on fancy ASM gimmicks. The score p4 gave me seems like it would've been pretty fair.

4th place? There's no way I couldn't be happy with that! Especially when I was fully expecting a fair number of the entries to rank ahead of mine; there were quite a few good ones this year.

Yeah, the commentary for my entry is more or less what I expected- the "steep slope failure" idea is something I should have used only once. Building it was an interesting experience, though.

Same goes for me, too. I'm not too surprised that I ranked higher than many of the other entries, but I was right not to expect any of the top three places due to some of the movements at the end (mainly the part where I run into the wall a couple seconds before being hit by the Hammer Brother throwing hammers while sinking in the lava). For some reason I was attached to exploiting glitches. I kinda had some experience in this contest gimmick when I was recording the title for Combo Breaker and it would always desync, so rather than record a new movie afterward, I cheated a little and modified the level a bit to reflect Mario's desynced movements.

Not last, huh. Better than I expected, given that this was actually the first ever title screen thing I've done.
Well that, and the fact that the one other video I watched actually used the movements to much better effect than I did.
In any case, congrats to the winners.

I actally expected my entry to be in the middle section, so 24th is pretty good for me. Congrats to the winners!
By the way, SNN gave me an almost perfect score out of 40, or there's a typo there?

...better then my VLDC at any rate, i swear if i got >69th i would have stopped hacking.
