Need any help on the technical attributes of performing walljumps, or the best way to run and jump to save a few extra frames for your TAS? Or just looking to get past an obstacle for just a fun playthrough? Look nowhere else but here! Get your general Kaizo technique questions answered.

Hmmm... I hope I get this right. Uh, how do I do the whole jump in the air throw a shell behind you and then jump on it thingy? I get really confused...

Assuming you are jumping to the right:

First of all, you need to be going at a good speed in midair, 30+ will do, I'm not sure what the minimum is. When you are rising from the jump, press left for one frame and mario will start to turn around. You will then need to throw the shell to the right. The earliest frame you can do this is the frame after mario is sort of -half- facing to the left.

It will go from facing right, facing a bit right, facing a bit left, and facing left completely, from the frame you press left. Each stage will last a few frames. As soon as you let go of the shell, be sure to start holding right and run again, in order to catch up with it. You will need to hold jump for different amount of times in order to hit it. This all may sound confusing, but you'll soon pick it up.
Is it possible to duplicate a custom block? I don't think so, cause I've tried it before, but just wanted to make sure...

If you have sprinting speed, you only need to press left < for one frame, then hold right and let go.

If you don't have sprinting speed, the fastest way is to get to 37 speed, press > for one frame, then left < and then right for 4 frames, and you should be at 37 speed while jumping backwards. Then simply press right again.

The reason you can duplicate SMW's blocks is because of the bouncing animation thing it does. Most custom blocks don't do this, so most of the time, you can't.

Is crossing this gap possible without an item? It's a swimming level btw:

Going up/right is always possible and easy, but going down/right is really difficult, if possible at all.

Yeh the down right bit I was struggling with... I'm assuming it's possible, since I think tfb got past this bit.
He did not pass that yet. It should be possible, but the playtesting was done so long ago that I can't remember passing that anymore...

I thought it was possible due to the spike being on layer 2, but I'm not entirely sure.....

Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.

Oooh look at my userbar!

... have you tested everything else though? I've tried it many times and I can't get past it. Could you give it a try? If you find that it's impossible could you edit and re-release the hack please, I'm hoping the smv won't desync.
Changed it, here's a new download. It's friggin easy now (I just played through it without slowdown...) but hey, at least it's possible. This part, that is.

&!*@#&*@!()# I want playtesters.

smv desynced =/
Does anybody know anything about corner boosts? I can't get this invincibility part in room 1 of Walljump Abuse. I've already spent tons (literally) of re-records on it. Please help.

I don't think corner boosts are going to help you at all. I took a look at Lucasdiv's video of Walljump Abuse, and there's no place after the mushroom that you could possibly get a corner boost.

All I recommend is keeping your speed at a number that lets you pass through the munchers without taking damage. Also, don't hold A or B in the process.

In my tas, I managed to miss out the 2nd set of munchers completely. I assumed that I had somehow grazed the corner of the top muncher which pushed me somewhere, seeing as I could not recreate it in a different circumstance without getting hit in between said gap.
I did that glitch of entering a pipe the same time of eating a flower, but for some reason I can't burn the goal. Why?
If you did the glitch correctly you got pushed back out of the pipe.

If you did the glitch frame-perfectly (enter the pipe on the frame yoshi swallows the flower) you can still not burn the goal. Also it doesn't work if you are already fire mario when activating this glitch (you need to actually change, although it doesn't matter if you start as small, big or cape mario).
You can check if the glitch has worked by looking at yoshi, he should look strange (rather flat).

Yes, the glitch worked. But how can I burn the goal?
Just shoot a fireball at it. Make sure you hit the actual tape.
