Hi, sometimes, when I try to insert sprites with Romi's Spritetool, it says something around the lines of "Your file won't fit in a single bank. Make sure there is no org statement". However, I tried to insert them again, and it worked (I tried to get the exact error message, but I couldn't see it).

I checked in ALL the sprites I use and couldn't find a single org.

Any idea why that happens? Is it dangerous? Slogger tells me there's still plenty of space in the ROM.

There is also something else. I inserted the YI Chomp Rock dynamic sprite, and the time of loading (Title screen, OW and levels) have almost DOUBLED. Something must have got horribly wrong.

Well, how large are the sprites file-wise? Though I guess they'd only be larger than a bank if they incbin'd some stuff.

The other problem may be that they're being inserted late in a bank: reinserting, like what you did, causes spritetool to remap the sprite(s) properly, I guess. The best thing to do is insert sprites first before any other modification to the ROM, so this won't happen.

Not sure about the Chomp Rock. Did you properly apply dsx.asm?
None is larger than a bank. However, there are a lot of sprites to insert, of which 3 are dynamic. Yes, I did patch dsx.asm and garble.asm. I inserted other dynamic sprites way before the Chomp Rock.

Anyway, I always was getting sudden slowdown for no reason before, so the Chomp Rock isn't the culprit. I really have to consider patching QuickROM. I sometimes get crippling slowdown for 3~4 seconds, even when there are no sprites on-screen (or even in the whole level).

So yeah, everything is fixed, thanks for the info!
