No, not for the games, for the show! Not sure if this would be better in the anime subforum, but since it'll probably get more attention here, I'll just post it here.
So yeah. What are your thoughts on the Pokemon anime?
Currently, I'm watching the entire series (from EP001 to infinity), and I'm currently in season 4 (Johto League Champions). I know next to nothing about any of the episodes in Johto, since I didn't watch them, so at this point I'm mostly blind. I've also seen most of the Advanced saga and the first season of the DP saga, but I lost interest at some point during DP. I just watched a couple Best Wishes episodes, and they're significantly better than any other episodes in the series. Team Rocket is smarter (FINALLY THEY DON'T SHOW UP IN EVERY DAMN EPISODE), the voices are better, and there's less filler than in previous sagas. Johto's getting very repetitive very quickly, and at this point, I'm crawlingnthrough, hoping to reach the Advanced saga soon (which is the most nostalgic for me).
I'm also watching the movies, as well. I've seen all of them before (I even have the first three on VHS), but it's nice rewatching them. So far my favorite is Pokemon 2000 (the one with Ligia), but my overall favorite is Destiny Deoxys, which I can't wait to rewatch.

Season 2-whatever don't exist it's only Season 1.
Always.
(On another note I think I'm not the only one hoping this anime finally ends and we can get another interpretation, perhaps based on the manga.)

The opening theme of the English version is awesome, but the Hebrew one sucks...  (I'm talking about the original one. I have no idea about the later ones...)

Around the Johto arcs (probably like Pokemon Master Quest) was where I think the show jumped the shark and suffered from bad writing and too much filler. I got the feeling the episode writers relied on a basic template for the episodes' plots (the main trio find a new Pokemon and meet a new friend and the Pokemon is somehow connected to the new friend and there's some kind of problem, and then Team Rocket shows up and tries to take the Pokemon. Level 9000 Pikachu thunderbolts Team Rocket away.) The Johto saga does so little with the plot for how long it is enough to put Avatar to shame.
The show writers clearly don't care about plot holes, deus ex machinas that are insulting to our intelligence (thunder armor, anyone?) or the fact that Ash is still ten even 15 years after he started his journey from Palette Town. They care more about turning the show into a cash cow franchise than about making a good story. At least it's fun to make fun of.
I have listened to and halfway watched some Black and White episodes, and they don't seem to suffer from nearly as many of the flaws I pointed out, but Ash seems to have gotten dumber (is that even possible?)
Needless to say, I enjoy the games more than the show.

I remember reading an interview with one of the creators, and they flat out admit to recycling plots and storylines. They aim for a certain age range, and that means their target audience of yesteryear isn't their target audience of today, and thus their recycling is justified. Persistent fans, and new fans who look back at the series' previous seasons, are both ignored.
That said, I was a fan of the show in my younger years. Taped most of season 1. It was pretty good back then, and I respect it still for that. I don't hate it for stagnating really... if I were a more hardcore fan, I'd probably just mark a cutoff point and pretend everything past it didn't exist. Like I do for Simpsons.

I dislike the new pokemon seasons after Johto-Kanto-(hoenn was... okay)
but the rest was just seasons filled with fillers, and talk about Friendship. A Lot of Sidetracking, and pokemon contests (just for the try to get more females to watch the show).
It's getting so stupid.

What we need is a season dedicated to the past. You know what I mean. The first seasons.

You couldn't be more wrong. Since contests were pretty much abolished in Black and White, that's been reflected in in the show as well. What you said definitely applies to Diamond & Pearl, but with Best Wishes, there's a hell of a lot less filler. By the time Ash had 8 badges in Kanto (63 episodes), he was in the process of getting his 4th badge in Johto, had his 4th badge in Hoenn, only had 2 badges in Sinnoh, and has 5 badges in Unova. That alone shows how much filler they cut out in Unova. Please actually watch some of the newer episodes before you complain about them.

A shit anime with less filler is still a shit anime.
Honestly the only reason season 1 is worth mentioning is for the opening theme and nostalgia.

I've seen a couple eps. Iris is annoying as hell and there's nothing really that special about it apart from less filler. It's slightly better than seasons 2-13 but it's still pretty much shit.
