Description: Sometimes, reading a tutorial isn't enough to fully understand its message. Sometimes, you have to experience a feeling firsthand to gain knowledge. This is one of those times.

A Kaizo trap is a trick involving a goal tape, a blue POW switch, and some coins. It's usually not used in hacks because of its cheapness, but if the player is forewarned, then Kaizo traps can become a fun twist to level design. This "hack" is a tutorial to generating Kaizo traps in your own Super Mario World hack. Included are basic Kaizo traps, some clever traps, some original traps, and some downright silly traps. Yoshi's House is much more dangerous that it should be, and playing a 2-player game may open up a cool secret.

(This hack is currently incomplete. The basic traps are finished, as well as two bonus areas. Expect more levels in the future.)

Sorry we don't accept Kaizo hacks on the site. However, feel free to show it off in the Kaizo Forum

It's not "Kazio" it's "Kaizo." And also, this hack isn't even difficult enough to be Kaizo. It's a YouTube hack, that's what it is. All you have to say about it is "we don't accept Kaizo hacks" while neglecting to mention the OW is messy and that you can go anywhere from the start, the levels have NO substance and are fairly repetitive, and lastly, Kaizo traps.
If Timestamp reads this post, don't even show it off there in the Kaizo forum without giving it a major overhaul or all the people who regularly hang out in that forum will criticize it majorly for being too easy and boring.
If it clearly violates one of the submission rules, I'm not going to bother playing it, just like they didn't bother to read the rules.

I'm honestly not trying to be mean about it, but there was no point to continue on. Its states it Kaizo, the photos that were shown had stacked munchers, cutoff, etc. I can't tell right off the bat its not going to fit here.

If you would like an idea of what we are looking for; Watch videos 1 and 2 in my sig, read through the level fundamentals thread, the HSG and finally, play through some of our already accepted hacks.

I'n not trying to be mean or anything, but I did download this hack and the only problem are the floating munchers, which were in only one place.
What this actaully is is one-screen levels with Kaizo traps, but with messages explaning how to solve them, like this.
If you still think it counts as Kaizo, then okay, the ultimate opinion is yours.
And sorry if this counts as drama or anything, I'm just pointing that out.
The levels aren't even really beatable. If you try, you just hit the Side Exit Enabled sprite and get kicked out.

Additionally, it contains plenty of coins and brown blocks acting like each other and Munchers acting like everything from water to 3up moons (but none acting like Munchers for some odd reason).

But it's still not Kaizo.
To be honest, I thought the idea of a "fair kaizo trap" (where the player is forewarned and is given a chance) was cool, but this guy did not execute it properly. I would like to see somebody make a collection of fair kaizo "traps" (I guess you cannot call them traps if the player is forewarned)

If I recall correctly, TSRP2 had this. One of the secret exits had a message box right before the goal telling you to get the On/Off switches to "On", and you had the ability to backtrack.
What I wonder is if it would be a removal reason to have some condition be fulfilled or else during the goal walk the player would exit the level via side exit instead of dying.

Keep the hack at a fair difficulty.
Avoid issues such as death traps after the goal, blind jumps, forced damage, excessive enemies, places where you can get permanently stuck, excessive 3-UP moons, projectile sprites (e.g Bullet Bill) placed directly into a level instead of using the correct shooter/generator sprite, etc.

...though if it's clearly warned about, I'm not sure if this applies.

It may also be considered a violation of 7.4 (no major graphical glitches), 7.10 (work in all emulators) and/or 7.12 (quality level design), though the only glitches I know of are half of the timer score disappearing, and possibly some oddities with the bonus stars (I haven't checked that very much).

It is not really a trap if you warn the player and let him backtrack. Also, there are graphical glitches when this happens? If so, I don't think they are noticeable, since I never noticed any.
Whether it's kaizo or not, it's not really something that needs to be in the hacks section. It tries to teach you how to deal with common(?) kaizo traps, but if it was accepted it would be in the hacks section, where those kinds of traps are very rare and will continue to be since they're one of the reasons why hacks get rejected.

Anyway this was rejected for more obvious reasons. I was just speaking hypothetically about using a kaizo "trap" in a normal hack (example: TSRP2)
