Tip: Linear levels aren't necessarily a bad thing. After all, most official Mario levels are fairly linear.

"Paper Mario 64" is a major SM64 modification being made by me, Eggs6131, containing 7 stars (anyone who's played PM will know why the star count is so little).

The mere idea is a big ask, all the modelling, not to mention tons of new behaviours that I must put in (badges, star pieces, bosses, battles, etc). Just preparing the ROM will take time. So help would be much appreciated if you know anybody good at this sort of thing!

Here's hoping there isn't a size restriction on images...

Outside Mario's House (from the Model Resource, does anyone here know how to export models from Paper Mario?), partially retextured as well.

You might notice there's only two visible sides to the house - that's Nintendo's doing. They only did the visible side of the house to reduce memory usage, it's pretty clever actually.

Except when I'm working on a SM64 hack! Argh.

If you are looking to rip models, then there's a graphic plugin that rips models in a vrml format, which you can then convert into an OBJ. It doesn't work with Project 64 though, so you'll need to use a different emulator like 1964 to get things running.

I can't seem to find the tutorial I used to learn about this, but I found this video, it's not exactly for SM64 but it seems good just for a tutorial about ripping N64 models. Let me know if you need any more help.
Vinnyboiler, the download isn't working. It says I have to sign up, and when I do, it won't send me a confirmation e-mail #ab{:(}

Is there anywhere else where I can download this from? Googling it is not helping.

Here you go, I had it on my computer. Let me know if you have any other troubles setting this up.
I like the idea behind this, something I myself had not thought of, but it must be somewhat simple since you'll be able to get the sprites and jazz from Paper Mario. I wish you luck!
This look pretty cool. I'm assuming you can set the camera to a fixed position then?
I so, agree with Lightvayne on this. It really is TOO BAD that I have to find SM64 ROM Converter 1.2 and PPF Patcher because believe me.

It was a pain in the ASS!
Hello there.

First off, you'll have free reign of the camera most of the time. Only when you're moving off of the worlds and into another one is when the camera is to be fixed in position.

The original characters are to be kept, but I'd like to try to model 3D counterparts, we'll see how that works.
