In 69 seconds? But yeah, invincibility starts are rather boring, it's about ten times more interesting when you can kill each other right away, and it also adds strategy.

Yeah invincibility defiles the point of the middle chests to be honest.

Plus the chance of more than one person getting an effective weapon from a corn chest is very slim, so there won't be many deaths at corn.

Can we participate if we didn't buy the game?(Sorry if this was already answered)
If I'm allowed, I'm in.
EDIT
So non premiums are allowed, yay
Will third party mods be allowed, like optifine (zoom function)?
Also, heard something about teams, is this a free for all or teams?

Nothing that will give you an advantage over another player is allowed.

Optifine doesn't really give you any advantage other than being able to play the game fluidly instead of lagging to death.
If anything it makes it more fair.

Well...yeah. One or two maybe, unless people either lag or are stupid (whoops, crude choice of words. Uhh...aren't too bright?).

First off, if the question is directed to me, let me answer it.
Secondly, you are allowed to use the optifine zoom function. As it stands, many users use optifine to stop them lagging out. The zoom function isn't something I'd necessarily call an unfair advantage since you can only see as far as your render distance anyway so I have no objections to that.
Other than that, mods which may give you an advantage such as RadarBro and Minimap (among others) are not allowed. As I understand it, our plugins should disable minimap anyway.
Also no news on the Mumble yet. We should hopefully have an update on that tomorrow if Kieran can get it set up.
E: Also regarding teams, you will all be entered into the game as a stand alone. You may make alliances with other players during the games but remember that only one person can win the games, so you will have to backstab your teammates eventually.

More questions:
Will the server open at 9:00 pm GMT, at which time people will start to connect, or will it open earlier, and start the games at 9:00pm GMT?
Will there be the original items in the chests, or will they be replaced before the game starts?
What version will the server be running?
Will name-tags be disabled or will it be the same old crouch-to-not-be-seen-through-walls?
What kinds of items will be found in chests, the same as the original map, or more items(like potions)?
Will players be allowed to hide in a corner of the map, and wait for others to find him, this can be really anoying in the late game...

A handful of splash damage II potions in a chest would be awesome ^^

It'll probably open a few minutes before this so players can start connecting. 9 was just a rough time, we start when everyone's ready to participate (or until it's just ridiculous waiting any longer).
Originally posted by xlkWill there be the original items in the chests, or will they be replaced before the game starts?
The chests are randomised and refilled daily, I answered this in a previous post.
Originally posted by xlkWhat version will the server be running?
1.3.1, I don't see why we'd be running anything outdated or unstable.

Same as default Minecraft.
Originally posted by xlkWhat kinds of items will be found in chests, the same as the original map, or more items(like potions)?
Refer to my second answer, although I'm not 100% sure what item restrictions there are on chests. Pot luck I guess.

By all means hide but remember if it gets ridiculous, I or another host will intervene. Watch your 6 because we will try to smoke you out if necessary.

Also...
WE NOW HAVE MUMBLE!
Check the first post for details.

Wheee...actually, I found out I may be able to participate for Mumble, as I have to be at my friend's house. Why? My Minecraft is deciding to not work.

Well, at least yours works...but that's still rough. Maybe Optifine? I'm not sure if it'll help much, but maybe a little?

Sad thing is, its happened ever since I installed optifine X(
Actually, just noticed Linux is updating and is trying to convince me its going to take 24 hours, that might be an aditional cause to the lag...

Oh wow. That's certainly strange. If you think that's the source of the problem, you realize you can just force update, right?

Linux? You use Linux? Maybe that's your problem.

Thats not the problem, on windows, I have to play on normal render dist. to avoid constant lag, on linux I've played on far all the time, even generates chunks smoothly.
Thing is I'm updating it now, windows can't update and run minecraft at once .
Also, anyone wan't to team up with me? At least for the first 5 min. or so...
EDIT:
WTF?!?!
