Nice, Dispari. I'm glad you guys are still working on thWOW! Nice. I like that Frog Coin counter. I can imagine some of the code that went into it (literally, I have an idea of how you'd get it to show up)...how hard was that to make?

It was actually the easiest sprite I've made to date. I made it in one afternoon, from scratch. I've never had a sprite go so smoothly. It's not even that much code.
It makes me very happy to see this hack being worked in again. I love the castle level, and the frog counter is brilliant!
Wow. Very creative idea for Mouser's Castle. Most hacks use him as a boss but you used him as a regular enemy in very difficult situations. I loved Sky Tower and I'm sure I'll love playing this.
This is not a finalization or even an indication that goombas will be changed. This is just a proposal. I've yet to run this by Heisanevilgenius.





I like the second one, but it would probably look weird if he was actually moving. So probably the first one.
You could possibly make it so that Goomba #01 would have its body going up and down as it moves, similarly to the second animation option - this would certainly be a plus to the animation itself, IMO, as it doesn't look too smooth as it is... I mean, it could be more than just a flip between both the animation frames the entire animation features.

Nevertheless, the graphics themselves look nicely put together. Great job. :)
Try a "four frame" animation like this:

Body raised, left foot up.
Both feet down.
Body raised, right foot up.
Both feet down.
Darn it, you guys used my NES-style Super Mushroom idea before I even showcased it. XD

Really liking that Frog Coin counter. I haven't really been following this hack, but it's pretty popular, so I'll continue checking it out.
Goomba update.



Flying goombas will be red, like SMB3.
That looks pretty cool Dispari, nice job. It reminds me of the original Mario goombas, yet it isn't. Very nice!

I always liked the micro bombs in Mario RPG. These won't replace the normal bob-ombs, but will probably appear in some levels. Here they are next to Mario for a comparison:

Looks pretty cool, it could fit a factory type of level, or even a doomship.

Personally, I like all the new graphics you are placing out there. It gives a good spin to the game.
I like the look of the new graphics you have there. The micro bombs look especially cute, and all the sprites seem to animate well. They'll certainly help to augment the unique flair and style we've seen in this hack for quite a while.
The goombas look cool, same with the microbombs.
One thing about the microbombs though.
If they act like normal bombs,(jump on them and hold them)
It might look a little weird when you jump on them.

Also, the bats are really cute.
Wow, this is turning out pretty nice. The only bad thing I see is the frog coins. :O. I mean, this is my personal opinion, and I only hate them because of all the trouble they cost me in SMRPG. Otherwise, great hack.

Don't worry, they'll be totally optional in our hack. They'll just be used for in-level rewards, bonus stars, and possibly the occasional secret exit.
