Ending Credits and Music

I think its about that time were we need someone to code the ending credits. At the moment, I would like to come up with a general list of ideas we can go with and decide from there. We could with something as simple as what SMWCP did, or we can go full blow awesome by having it interactive in some way.

At the moment, the most updated list I have is here If anyone feels they should be on the list for one reason or another, please post your reason in there. Keep this thread strictly for discussing ideas on how to pull this off.

EDIT: I should also mention we are going to need music that will play during the final credits. Not sure how possible it would be to have a remix of a few tracks playing in the background, but that's up to who ever picks this up.

ssbm-style credits

i'll do 'em

need to top jimmy's jimmycredits
We could mix some of the songs, kind of like how NSMB did it, except a bit more mechanical. For the level it self, perhaps a recap of all the bosses, and some of the levels?

literally make a white screen that functions on bsnes without exploding and you've accomplished that
I'm probably overestimating my music skills in offering this, but would this make an alright credits theme? Granted, it lacks any SMWCP2 leitmotif, but it has always sounded like something credits-ish to me.

As far as visuals go, how about an interactive scene à la NSMBWii, with the letters written on breakable bricks that can be destroyed individually?

I'd think it work more as an "ending" theme right before the credits, but I'd suggest waiting on what the credits will actually look like before thinking of anything.

That is a sweet composition, btw.
Check out my music!
that sounds neat, it might work with what i have in mind:

this'll show up for a few secs before the real credits start

for those, i wanted to do something like MST3000, where credits are scrolling and you can do stuff with the people in the FG (the people would prolly be Mario, maybe Yoshi, and Peach, or Luigi). the "movie screen" itself would initially consist of a credits scroll, but changes eventually, and may also change depending on button inputs (aka what you do with the people in the FG)

thoughts?

I'm probably way late to have any real input on this, but what about a Super Monkey Ball 2-style credits, where the player collects coins and avoids the letters? I think that would be cool, especially if the player is flying away from something.
I really need a layout. :<
Ladida: I actually think that would be better without input. You have the people watching the credits, but then you watch the shadows do things, get in fights, maybe a koopa walks by and they chase it off or something, stuff like that.
yeah, it prolly would work better without input (was just offering input because it seemed like people wanted it)

@mandl27 i want to avoid anything cliche (collecting stuff, breaking bricks, etc)
the floating munchers have spoken
so i finished up the scrolling names for the credits

i want to know if anyone/anything is missing or mispelled, if anything looks wrong, etc. this is just a test for the names; it isnt the final (i'll work on the rest after this is done):

also thank you lui for spamming <3
Can't tell if the entire list is correct. (i see my name mentioned often enough though, so that's a plus~) Either way, this is looking great already.

Suggestion: If the silhouettes don't require input, how about making button presses increase the scroll speed just a tad? (no more than twice as fast, I'd say.)

In the gfx section, you misspelt Aquamentus as 'Aqtamentus'; that was the only mistake I could find.
Oh, and Hindenbird's name is misspelled in the boss list.

ok, fixed those (plus other ones people pointed out on irc). i copypasted everything from the credits list thread, so any mistakes present here are present over there.

might take that into account, but i'll have to see how the silhouettes are handled/coded (should they speed up too? etc)

trivia: credits as-is are ~4m30s #ab{>_<} (how long were the smwcp ones?)

Depending on how you've coded it/will code it, it could be pretty easy. Just run the main "do stuff" routine twice if the A button is pressed or whatever. Obviously this'll mean you'll need to separate the drawing logic from everything else, though.
I should get a new layout.

Probably won't, though.
oh, duh, that makes sense

would have to keep an eye on how much im running during the frame though (shouldnt be too much)

Somewhere around 6-7 minutes, so 4:30 is a massive improvement.

Everything it looking great so far, keep up the great work ^_^
