I stumbled across this bug while playtesting my level concept, which I call Rugo (short for Rube Goldberg*).

Basically, the bug occurs when you place an invisible coin block above a Flying Piranha Plant's launching point, but below its flight apex. Activate the block without killing the plant (if you have fireballs, for example), and the plant will become "stuck" on the block, as it resets its launching point to be at the level of that block.

This can be used to create the effect of essentially a new enemy: the Hopping Piranha Plant!

However, I don't want that type of enemy in this level (meant to introduce the player to the Rugo concept).

*Rube Goldberg was an early 20th-century cartoonist who drew cartoons illustrating enormously complicated contraptions to perform the simplest tasks. He would then guide the viewer on the proper operation of the machine by listing the steps either in alphabetical or numerical order (he did both).

The Rugo concept revolves around a similar set of rules, only the player is given subtle hints as to what step to perform next. Often, they will be placed under seemingly impossible deadlines (timer set rather low). The whole idea is to eventually get to the point that you can speed-run the levels. I aim to use Rugo as a sort of "training program" for those wanting to try Kaizo hacks, but who lack the patience/skill to do so.

You mean like in the level Metanki Park in VIP1? (see Video 4:40). If so (as the video sugests) this is nothing new.
