Not sure if this should be in gaming or something, but whatever.
Where do you think SMW hacking will be 10 years from now? IMO, I say we'll have a full rom & ram map, and every sprite will be dynamic... It's on the way, what with smwedit's sprite tile limit hack. You think people will still be interested in SMW and hacking it? I mean, it has lasted for like 17 years now, and hacking it has been around for about 6 years...

This definitely doesn't belong in this forum, but... meh... in 10 years?
There is more data of the ROM map known than you might think. It just isn't usable unless you want to overwrite complete routine... so, theoretically, we already have approximately (?) 100% of the ROM map.. but let's keep it on 80-90%.
Well, you hit the nail on the head there ; hacking SMW is only known for 6 years (the game is 11 years older but that doesn't matter, it's still beautiful). It is probably also one of the earliest modified games, but still, I highly doubt SMW hacking will have much interest in about 10 years... and I don't think SMWCentral will exist anymore. If any forum/website, then it'll be a second 'Nightfall' (but with better planning).
I don't know about the RAM Map. A lot of RAM addresses are still yet to be found, aren't they? Could be interesting...
Every sprite dynamic? Depends on smwedit and depends on the hacker... if he refuses to use dynamic sprites, then, no dynamic sprites .

In 10 years, we could probably find a way to modify everything possible. But were pretty close to that already, arent we? ;P

In ten years, you'll be able to take SMW hacking classes at the universities.

There'll probably be an easier tool to make mario-esque games than hacking this old thing.
This wonderful old thing

Well either a nice perfect web-utopia where the forums receive no spam.
OR!
Half-buried somewhere in an unknown desert, all the members (except me) forgotten.
Now which one is more likely?

None is likely to be happening - you won't be the only one who will remember SMW hacking -, but if one... I'd say the latter.

In ten years, we'll have a Raphael the Raven-style rotating moon level. And it will be used in every hack, and everyone will hate it.

In 10 years... Hmm
1) We will have completely custom Layer 3 stuff
2) Someone will be able to COMPLETELY recode the SMW powerup engine and the physics of Mario
3) There will be support for FFF amount of levels (4095 levels), but the OW won't be able to handle that, so people will use secondary entrances alot and will result in levels with the timer being FFF. And the ROM size won't handle it anyways.
4) There will be a HDMA engine
5) Someone will make an OW border Layer 3 editor
6) We will be able to edit the Mario's credit walking scenes
7) Someone will make an ASM hack so that the map16 will be protected with a RATS tag
8) We will be able to make a 32x32 player tilemap, collision and stuff
9) The OW will be expanded
10) Make NORMAL mode 7 levels (No bosses), although the status bar will be gone then along with Layer 2.
11) who someone submit something
Just a guess D:

In 10 years, FuSoYa will release the official Demo World 3 (which took him 10 years to make), featuring all the stuff you told about.
...Hey, that could be possibe!
Or, which is more likely to happen, SMW will be so easy to hack that nobody feels like doing it any more. We'll probably hack Super Mario Galaxy and have a Wii emulator (if that isn't already possible - I have no idea), or a game that has not been released yet.

10 years from now, smwcentral.net will be filled with everything ranging from news to hacks (on the menu). Super Mario World might be turned into 3-D like New Super Mario Brothers. And Super Mario World may end up being in everyone's recycle bins because there will be new things to hack.

In 10 years, it will finally be revealed that Boom was just a puppet, and proxy server was the owner of the site the whole time.
Don't be so sure that everyone will lose interest in SMW. Part of its success is in the game's simplicity. It is easy to base things off of it because it is not overly complex. There's still a chance that SMW hacking could still be alive.

In 10 years... on the exact date, May 17, 2018 at 8:11 PM, SMW Central will be flooded with all those crappy hacks that only got 1 world demos, but they'll all be fully done, and the hacks waiting to be moderated count will be in the upper hundreds. And all those hacks that were 10+ years in the making after being rejected? ...They'll still be crap.
