No, but I have some updates, as well as a new palette:

As you can see, the cross section are handled better to avoid cutoffness.

Yes, more decoration below.

In here too. I resized some of the cross sections so that the level has the minimum of cutoffness, if any.

Some holes in the cross sections here.

Piranha Killer.

I will most likely make some tweaks to this level if you guys have any suggestions, and maybe try to understand above-the-ground cross sections, so that I have some different decoration.

Feedback?
Heh, nice. If you are trying to give the level a autumn feeling, try changing the FG pallet to 20.

Also the first screenshot, try moving the cross section one tile down.
I wasn't really trying to make an autumn feel -- I actually tried a more "grassy rock" feel, as shown by the screenshots above. Thanks for telling me about the cross section, and thanks for the compliments.
Oh, i can't believe i missed out on so many posts!

Spacefan, that's looking amazing for someone who just started out with Eggvine. The palettes are looking quite nice, but i do have some complaints:

  • In places like this:

You seem to use raised ground quite often. Even though it looks nice once in a while, filling your level with it ruins the design quite alot. Instead, use some terraformed land, then lead up to areas with 3 or 4 bits of raised ground, so it doesn't look like your whole level is just jumping across ledges.

  • Lack of enemies. In all your screenshots, all i can really see are Shy Guys and Pirhana Plants. If you want, you can use the Sprite Set List that i made recently. It shows all 127 sprite sets and every enemy and sprite that can be used with it. That way, you can use a variety of enemies and decorations to spice up your level.

Otherwise, great job! Can't wait to see more!

Thanks for the compliments, Blumiere! I have improved the land, using more slopes, and less elevated ledges, and, about the sprites...Yeah, you see, I don't want them to be extremely varied since it's the first Intro Level, but thanks for that Sprite Set! I might need it later.

Yeah, thanks for the feedback, everyone.

A small video showing off a little of the first level of my YI hack. It's nothing spectacular, but I'm proud of how it is coming out... heh.

Enjoy watching, and please comment on it! Oh, and by the way, please let me know if video embeds are REALLY accepted at this thread... otherwise, I will add a link to the video in this post instead.

Oh, and also, please forgive me for the awful video quality... I should really learn to record better videos in the nearest future. D:
That is looking quite nice, fellow Pokemon friend. I like how you used the decorations, and the location of the bonus room, as well as the bit of unlinearity towards the end.

I hope to do as good as you with the first level of my hack! ;)
Looking solid. The only complaint I have is that at 0:56, when Yoshi is coming out of the downwards pipe, he is one tile lower than he should be. Please move his entrance position up one square so that his body is fully covered by the pipe.

The rest looks good so far. Keep it up.
Nice job, Gardechomp! That's looking really good for someone who has little experience with Yoshi's Island :3

But like SNN (or ... Dr. Manhattan) i a complain :<

At 0:32, you have a blind jump. Although it looks pefectly good and doesn't really seem like a big deal, it could become really annoying if someone is trying to get 100% in your levels and they can't seem to find items because you didn't indicate something was there.

Otherwise, great job so far. Your cross sections came out really nice, which is someone really hard to grasp.

Wow... why didn't I notice that before? Going to fix that immediataly - thanks for pointing that out. ^_^

All right then - I'm probably going to add a right arrow sign to indicate that the player must roll the Chomp rock found in that area in order to proceed further the level. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Thanks for the feedback as well, guys. Glad I received plenty of comments this time. :P

@SpaceFan: Thanks! Also, you're bound to do better than me. :O
^_^ Nice level! All though I also have a small complaint. In the big crossection area, there is a cloud with a flower in it, my complaint is that people would think there is ground. (I would think..) IMO I think you should add solid ground. But it is completly up to you.

How did you get those clouds behind the spiky trees in the BG? Aren't they only for the Happy Hills Background? What are the layer 3 values?

For one, header properties don't ALWAYS have to match up with another background. You can mix it up a little!

Also, if it wasn't for the fact it's early morning here and i wasn't half awake, i'd post the layer 3 values. But that being the case, just find levels in Yoshi's Island that have the background you want, go to the level via Eggvine, and copy out the values in Layer 2/Layer 3. Copy then into your level, and presto!

    Any feedback is appreciated.

Note that I have not learned how to change the Message Box text yet. I've seen the text when you get a Flower in Translhextion, but didn't bother changing it right now.

I love your usage of the unused Layer 2 ;)
Though the level makes me think more of Cherries than Peaches..

    Thanks!

Also, the name is Peach because...well, doesn't that color remind you of someone? :P
At 2:29, you should remove the little gap with the bouncy ball and also put the eggblock one tile lower, if it's possible you could also try to replace the stone blocks with right/left facing walls and slanted edges.

You also should place the star clouds in better positions, so that you are able to catch every star instead of losing 2/3 stars.

    Otherwise I think it's nice.
I will try to remove the gap and replace the Egg Block, and I will also try to relocate the star clouds.

Thanks for the feedback and the compliments!

    Castle 1-4...
Looks nice. The general structure seems fun to play with, and I like how you're using those walls and windows for decoration. Good job.
