Undertale

Yoshiatom's Post
EDIT: I was stupid and didn't relise I got neutral insted of full pacifist, and got the "best" ending recently so you cna disregard this whole post.

So I just beat the game pacifist (at least, I think I did)... and I am CONFUSED, in short.

After defeating Asgore, Flowery takes the human souls, closes the game, and then turn into what I can only describe as a google image search abomination who has the power essentially abuse savestates and put the game into pure bullet hell territory. During this fight his screen... thing... shows up with a "warning" and a human soul, which goes into a sequnce that alwows you to restore health, and after going through through six of these you beat the boss... except you don't, as he justs re-loads the save and bombards you with general DEATH, and then his powers stop working, the human souls do SOMETHING that returns him to his usual, flower self, you hit "mercy" a few times, he runs away and after all that maddens you go through a corridor that looks like one from the start of the game, credits roll.

*Bad Mark Bussler impersonation* BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! After all of that Sans telephones you and says a few things about what happened after you left, mostly about Toriel becoming Queen again and Undye having a job at an illegal hot dog stand. That isn't confusing, but then Flowerly pops up AGAIN and says something about going back to Undye and "getting a better ending".

...That was pretty badly explained, but it's such a bombardment of "what the fuck?" and it's making me confused to point of me being unsure if I've even beat the game... but it could just be me trying to look for logic where there is none. #smw{o_O?}

<DeputyBS> I knew it
<DeputyBS> alcarobot is taking over the world through his truck dealership franchise
you beat neutral

by better ending he means true pacifist
HackPortsASM"Uploader"

Reload the game in your last save point (i.e. before Asgore) and do what Flowey said. There's no confusion to be had.

in other words, you have to befriend her.
I'm sad we never got to

watch Mew Mew Kissy Cutie with Alphys. I wasn't lying when I said I would! :(
Well Toby announced that that second game he said he might make in Undertale's world is happening 2016 a few days ago on the tweeters so you might still get to watch it.
But not with the waifusaur |-O

Eh, I'm not the type to get hyped for sequels. We all know what happened to Mew Mew Kissy Cutie 2.
It probably will be a new plot with new characters. i dunno
Officially despise this game. Not because it's bad,

not because people blame markiplier for "giving it and the fanbase" FNAF syndrome when the fanbase has no one to blame but themselves,

but rather because it's TOO GOOD.

Lost my save transferring to a new computer (some connection bs) and got a clena copy. I had to close during flowey's introduction battle, without saving, due to an IRL commitment.

When I could return, flowey B!tch*d at me for running away while someone was trying to introduce themselves.

The F*CK, TOby fox. No, really, what the sh!t? How the **** do you program something like that?

He's too clever.....he's too clever....
You play it through steam? Some data is on the steam cloud.

What's likely happening here is some variable is set to a specific value when you start the conversation, and another variable is set when it ends. When you close the game in the middle of the conversation, the first value is set, but not the second.

So when you go back and start the conversation again, the game knows "if you started this conversation last time but did not finish it, say this".

It's pretty cool, and the game does that stuff a lot.

Rather simple, imo
because you just gotta save these variables in appdata so it can go from SAVE to SAVE

the perfect way to break that pokémon-like dialogue (is it even a dialoque?)

also a heavy way to break the fourth wall :}

It is quite simple to pull off, but clearly it was not used to its potential before. It's easily possible to pull off such an effect even in SMW, as I have done so myself back in my scrubby ASM days when I wrote directly to SRAM. Of course, the purpose of that was for Savestate breaking, and it never worked out too wonderfully, but that's beside the point. With the love for UT around here, it seems reasonable enough to believe that someone will create a gimmick like it at some point.
^ Ignore these repilies. Flowey is clearly real and lives inside your computers!!!
holy fuck i just beat Sans...i am so sad
it is the biggest hell you will ever endure.
Nope, the battle itself is the biggest hell.
So the wife and her brother made a neat pillow.

You're gonna have a bed time.
Decapitation appears to be common among bonekind...

I remember reading somewhere claiming that its sequel won't be direct - meaning that most of the story wouldn't connect to the story of the first game.
