Well, the original, already released version IS opened for a hacker's use, this'll just be nicer.
The hacker's edition will be stripped of a lot of it's patches, but put into a kit for custom use. GFX sets will be updated, and likely better organized for a hacker's use. I may also throw in some unused/beta materials I had left out like the 5up, venus fire trap from the SNES Test ROM, or the squish-able version of the final SMW goomba (in certain levels). So, I won't submit it to the hacks section. Well, maybe the patch itself, but the kit for the hack will likely be in my file bin.
That, and who knows. I may make a longer, tougher version for some of you...

In the official beta, the Reznors were fought with Ludwig's BG-instead of their dark wooden one. Just thought I'd say so, to make the hack a bit more authentic.

That's an interesting claim! May I ask where you have seen/heard this from? I would add it in if I had some sure proof.

Why are the Goomba's Old style? In the SNES Test Program rom they had the graphics used in the final, but there was a squashed goomba tile. This means that they were based off the old style goombas. If you want to use the tile I will post it.

Ah, well, there are three different kinds of Super Mario World Goombas. There are the ones in the final, and two different pre-release goombas (that we know of, right?).

The first kind is from the pre-release screenshots. I chose to style the goombas in my hack on the ones in this screenshot, as most of my hack was based around the pre-release screenshots.
The second kind looks like the final goombas, but they can be squished. Like you siad, the official squish gfx were in the SNES Test Program. I once had these goombas in my hack, as you can see in this low-res video of the pre-release version of my hack. But, later I decided against it. The classic style is just so much more interesting to me!

then YOU did something wrong, since it works fine for me. try re-downloading the patch and verify your rom with the clean rom verifier.

Well, it works for about 2800 others. So... lets see what the problem.
Your ROM maybe be missing a header. If you need a header, you can add one by using snestool.
Are you absolutely CERTAIN the ROM is clean? If not try SMW Clean ROM Verifier .
Hope this helps!

Hey, yoshi master, I'm not sure if you've noticed this before, but I think in the beta the "round goombas" (Kuribons) were using the green palette instead of the yellow one.

Well, at least both the official art work and ending suggest so. I found it interesting.

Oh wow, I never did see that. It's always really cool to see your hack appear on different sites! Thanks for showing me andy.

I was unaware of this article, but I do go by Croson on Youtube.

Ah, nice find Adam! Never did notice it before. It reminds me of the Blue Charging Chuck find. Maybe I can somehow put these in a future release somewhere.

Well I might point out something I noticed, In one of the beta screens earlier back the wall/net climbing koopas were red and yellow.
It kinda makes sense seeing how there is a fast variety of climbing koopas and yellows one are faster.

See near where it says "Mario", the koopa is yellow.

What was the find with it? Did it have to do with its mispaletted running arm?

The chuck in the credits, and the official art work was colored blue. That's why the chuck in game was blue. So, in a way, yes.
