We, the people who are working on it, disagree with the notion that that stupid and unrealistic deadline actually made anything happen. HuFlungDu was working on the project before the deadline and mantained the same rhythm after it was announced. I had to stop working on the project for a while because VLDC9 happened and real life caught up. I don't know about torchkas, but I'm pretty sure her situation was sort of a mix of mine and HFD's, so yeah.

I like how you didn't address his actual point: Why aren't
you helping, then?

Okay, now read that aloud in front of a mirror.

Anyway, how about weekly deadlines? They'll be easy to follow (even if we end up doing nothing for one reason or another), are orderly, aren't unrealistic (getting
something done is way different from getting
everything done), and round up everyone's latest contributions nicely so we no one has to make posts announcing that they moved a tile 16 pixels in whatever direction every time they do so. Either sunday or monday would work for that, I think.
