Would be lying to say I know what it should sound like but it's top notch. The synths are pretty enjoyable. After all there is more to the SNES than cardboard trumpets, cheesy strings, and reverb-in-a-trashcan.
Also I dunno if it's the samples you chose, the overall arrangement, etc or everything but for some reason this sounds really high quality (better than 16-bit) and I think it's one of your best works yet.
Now have some EB ports that I made for the Mother Remake, songs are based on both their NES and CD OST counterparts (I have done more songs for the remake, but these are more recent)
House Snowman Advent Desert Underground
the mother ports sound great but eye emm aych oh the scaraba sample set doesn't fit the desert track that well. it's kinda poppy and the scaraba set doesn't really reflect that very well. i also feel like the lead instrument in the underground track clashes a bit with the feel of the rest of the rest of the track but ehh that one is a bit less of a problem for me.
other than that great work! i can defs respect how well you nailed the feel of the tracks otherwise.
I'm actually aware of the instrument issues, but the sample packs EB uses are so limited aaaaa, you'd need to make a custom sample pack for those kind of things and it's pretty problematic and tedious (in fact, snowman uses a custom sample pack, we edited the winters one and added the guiro, acoustic bass, woodblock and a bunch of other instruments)
I'm lazy so I'll just paste the description of the youtube video I uploaded:
Decided to go (almost) completely vanilla, I had to do custom ADSR for the square wave and the strings. Actually the strings are also custom samples, I edited the original EB strings because they already had an attack ADSR in them and they sounded ugly in low octaves, so I removed it and then used the SPC700 ADSR instead.
Song is mostly copypasted from the Kirby Super Star music data, I had to edit the instruments, volumes and panning (especially this one because KSS's panning values are inverted, so I had to change all of them).
goddamnit Pinci, dont remind me of the inevitable fate I'll have to hold to port the Brazilian National Anthem™ please
But yeah, being serious now, this sounds REALLY nice actually. It's definitely better than my shitty port of the Russian National Anthem I had to do for school (granted I could've just used FL for that, but I was so much of a noob back then I didnt use FL until after a while, so) by a long shot, and honestly, it just makes me want to remake that more lol. Nice job!
i'll still have to do the Brazilian National Anthem tho, because its actually not a bad song at all
