Holiday Hack!

Standard

So I'm making a SMW holiday hack. All I have done so far is the title screen and a few levels. Different levels will be based on different holidays. Starting with the beginning of the year, you start in winter and in New Year's levels, which will have many Bob-Ombs because... well... fireworks. Does anyone want to give inspiration for what to put into my ROM hack?
Shouldn't this be in the works in progress section?
You're right. I'm new here. I apologize.
Welcome to smwc :)

It's okay, this is the right forum. However, you'll want to provide screenshots of your hack in progress, that way we'll know what to expect from it.

Also you have duplicate thread, you might wanna notify a moderator about that.

This is the title screen so far. I know I have some things to do, with it, so I meant mostly finished.
It looks fairly decent, I suppose. I'd say the "Holiday Hack" part looks weird, and would be better off using a working palette (unless you manually edit the colors).

You can also edit the background colors too to fit with the holiday theme, if that's what you're going for.

Other that, the ground looks nice overall. I wish you luck with this hack.
Thanks. I wanted the "Holiday Hack" part to have multiple palettes to represent how many holiday colors there are. I mean I know it looks weird, but there's a reason behind it. Also, I may be a hacking noob, but I know how to keep levels looking nice. What I mean by that is no cutoffs, no background junk everywhere, etc. I know how to keep the levels clean. I do have an idea for the New Year's level. Quite a bit of water, but it will be a deep burgundy to represent wine that people drink on New Year's quite a bit.
Uhh, I think showing us a few levels would be cool. But with what you've shown us, the title screen looks pretty nice. Like Ruberjig said, the ground looks nice. What needs fixing, though, is the abundant cutoff all over the title screen. Next to the W in "WORLD" is a stray black line coming out of it, the O's in "SUPER MARIO" and "HOLIDAY" are cutoff on the edges, the stars and the "HACK" have boxes around them which aren't exactly the prettiest. "HOLIDAY" and "HACK" also have kind of ugly palettes, as well. Either way, welcome to SMWC, and I presume this is your first hack? You seem to have a good grasp on how to use Lunar Magic already, so that's pretty good already! Good luck.

Yes, this is my first hack. I have figured out how to use Lunar Magic myself, mostly.
I for one think the "holiday hack" looks good, it stands out perfectly. Erase that line coming out of the W and it'll be perfect.

But yeah post some levels

I'm unsure where the title screen's graphics are located, so I don't know where the graphics for the title screen's "WORLD" are.
Open gfx 29 in YYCHR

Because youre wanting to edit something on layer 3 In that program change Graphic format to 2bpp GB. You'll see it there

Thank you. That helped a lot.
