I think it would be neat if suggestions for greatest hits were somewhere on the forums. I feel like there would more input from the community and more obscure songs and porters would get recognized that way.

Also I forget but what is the policy on users submitting videos like tutorials and such?

e: Also I feel like this would be more fitting in GD or Site Questions and Bugs.

You can go ahead and suggest songs here, but please do keep in mind these should be songs released during C3 and/or the music section.

The only thing we're accepting as of now are LP's which we'll upload under our Guest LP category, the only thing we ask from anyone who is willing to submit one is that they record in HD quality (720p) and have a somewhat decent mic. If your microphone has a lot of noise for example, that's a reason for us to not upload your content.

We're not entirely sure what we're doing for tutorials yet, but we'll have an answer to that very shortly.

And before I forget; todays video is a new Greatest Hits episode, this time featuring Romancing SaGa 2's Sinking Ship - Ported by Sinc-X!
Little update regarding video tutorials.

We're accepting SMW hacking video tutorials from anyone on the site as of now, please make sure that your video meets the following requirements:

1280x720 // 30 FPS (You may also render the video in 60 FPS, and raise the video quality to 1920x1080)
A decent microphone with little to no background noise (If your mic has a lot of static noise or a buzzing sound, we have the right to reject your video)
No prepubescent voices (Your voice must be matured)

If you'd like to record videos for us, it is advised you send me a test video through a PM so I can determine whether you meet our standards or not; you might end up wasting your time if you don't.

You can use this thread to find a tutorial to cover in a video. Once you've picked a tutorial you'll be working on, do let people know in the same thread linked earlier so we don't end up with dupes and someone's gonna end up wasting their time!

Send your final version of your tutorial to me through PM's and I'll review it as soon as possible. I wish you all the best of luck!

I'd like to do guest LPs for the channel, although I have a few questions about it:

-How many episodes do you accept per hack? I see you normaly do like 3-4 episodes for a hack, so I assume it's the same for guests.
-Do you have a preference for a certain type of hacks, or is there a type of hack you'd rather not upload to the channel, or is anything fine?

I'm not asking about the lenght since I assume it's arround 13-15 minutes like most videos on the channel.

Right now I can't play anything since I have a cough and I don't have too much free time, but as soon as I can I'll let you know.

Edit: Also, do you need me to edit the video in a particular way or am I free to do it any way I want? (Other than adding the intro, outro and the borders).

We don't have a limit set, we usually stick with three to four episodes because we'd like to move on to something else; variety is key.

Anything is fine, just as long as the hack does not contain any profanity; we'd like to keep the channel profanity free. I'm not sure if there are hacks hosted on the site that contain it, but I do know there's a hack that contains NSFW material; it's stuff like this we don't want to be seen either.

15 minutes is the ideal length, yes.

You're free to edit the video in any way you like, whether it is by adding lines of text, zoom into different parts of the video for comedic effect, etc. Just don't make it to distracting.
Slightly delayed again, sorry about that.

The latest video is the finale of Hobz' LP of Showtime, a Super Mario World hack created by the user ThalesMangaka.
Got any opinions or feedback on this video? Share them here.
Remember that this thread is for any of you to talk about any of the videos uploaded to the channel, so don't be afraid to start a discussion!

New video for today is LET'S PLAY: Touhou Mario [Ep. 1].

I don't know if anybody else has pointed this out yet, but this episode has the beginning of another LP stapled to the end of it. It's after the previous video/latest video thing and it's not referenced anywhere so it feels like it was done on accident.
I doubt it's an accident. The episode would've been super short otherwise, so I assume Hobz added that in to fill it up and just didn't want to spoil it.
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?
Maybe on Thursday there could be an ASM Showcase? I know that there are a lot of blocks / sprites/ patches / etc (without a GIF image) where I would like to see it to its full ability.

That's what Content Spotlight is for, but at the moment we don't really know what kind of ASM we could show off. Most blocks, sprites and patches aren't really video-worthy, but perhaps we could work on compilation videos every once in a while.

Maybe not, but I don't think the surprise factor outweighs the lack of ability to advertise it, i.e. only people who clicked to watch the Showtime LP will see it and nobody who wants to watch this one will know where to look.
I would honestly submit something if I had a mic.

It's nice that you guys are allowing submitted videos and requests though, pretty cool stuff. #smw{:TUP:}
SMWC's Greatest Hits: Sonic Advance 3 - Cyber Track Act 1

Another greatest hits video, this time featuring Wakana's 2015 port of Sonic Advance 3's Cyber Track Act 1!
Do you have an opinion on this song? Do you want to suggest a song for the next greatest hits episode? Post about it here if you will!

You can even submit footage to us showing off small parts of your hack if you want to. It's something like this that we'll be able to include in a Content Spotlight video. (If the quality is decent, that is)

Today's greatest hits episode features Moose's composition called Pastel Wind, created for and inspired by Izuna/Harumi's VLDC8 level Trunk Trouble.

Hey! As you may have noticed our channel's been a bit lacking in content, lately. Dan's been working hard on the biweekly Content Spotlights & SMWC Music Showoff stuff, and we have something in the pipeline, but we were having some internal questions regarding some of our other shows.

Primarily, I wanted to ask about the public interest regarding our Let's Plays, and our Super Mario 64 Song Show-Offs. Did you guys enjoy the multi-part Let's Plays? Should we be doing something more like one-off videos of certain hacks? Did you enjoy checking out the unique Super Mario 64 songs? Would you guys be interested in watching occasional streams of hacks? Hosting workshops on our channel? Tutorials? What stuff would you be interested in seeing on the YouTube?

For what it's worth, I'm quite in favor of streams in lieu of "proper" LPs that involve editing and the like. Plus, there's always the VOD to be uploaded immediately (if youtube streaming is used it's even quicker). And of course the chat involvement is a real bonus that could potentially get more of the community interested.
