Not bad. It's not amazing or anything like that, but I enjoyed it for what it is. However, that's not to say it didn't have issues, because it had quite a few of them.

The Title Screen

First off, these weird things show up on your title screen. Use this to fix it. Not only that, but the border on your title screen doesn't fit.

Palette issues on the file select.

The Intro

I think the ground where Mario is standing should be lowered a little. That message should be reworked as well. Maybe something along the lines of:

Mario was taken away by a Tornado of Goombas, and ended up on a strange island. Will Mario be able to escape?

The Overworld

The things I circled and marked with a "P" are called "perspective errors". It's when certain tiles are placed incorrectly to make an island height. They aren't exactly looked upon as "good" so you might want to fix those.

Yoshi's House

Palette issues on the status bar. That block above where Mario is standing really doesn't serve any purpose either.

The Levels

No enemies, no obstacles. Just flat land with the occasional slope. Wow. Might want to add something to each of these areas to not make it so flat.

Blind jump. Might want to add some coins or something to let the player know it's not a pit.

The SMW athletic theme plays here for some reason. Kinda unfitting.

Hi random flopping fish. What are you doing here? Don't you belong in the waters?

The Pirahna plant is stuck in the ? blocks. Either remove the blocks entirely, or move them somewhere else.

This section is really short, and doesn't serve any real purpose. I suggest for you to remove it, because it really doesn't fit with the rest of the level.

I only found 2 dragon coins in this level, and I looked everywhere. I don't know if this is the only level with missing dragon coins, but just to be safe, I would look in Lunar Magic to see if you placed all 5 dragon coins in each level.

BOOM'S CASTLE

The reason why this level in particular is separate from the rest, is because this one feels simply unfinished. The first part of the stage is completely devoid of enemies, has palette issues on the status bar, and on Boom Boom (his spikes) and the level is really short. I would suggest going back and reworking this level a little better.

That's all from me. I look forward to the next update/demo.
Kyanite covered almost everything, but I can still give my two cents.

The levels feel very empty in general. A lot of parts have no enemies and the ones that do can be easily jumped over. Your levels were mostly runing to the right and jumping from time to time. I know this is a one world demo, but even world 1 needs obstacles that require more than just jumping over them (don't overdo it though).

Here are some scenarios you should avoid to make your levels feel more "alive"

-Sprites between pipes/high ledges: 1 2
-Giving Mario the high ground: 1
-These plants are easy to avoid from below
-Enemies that get out of the way before Mario can touch them: 1
-Grounded enemies on flat ground: 1
-Last but not least: the empty sections, Kyanite already pointed out a lot of those.

I advise you to combine grounded enemies with airborne ones, you can also combine the jumping piranha plants with classic ones. Use more pits and have split paths (you had those in the second level) too, so your levels don't just feel like running to the right.

A few other things I noticed:

If it wasn't for the pipe, this would be a blind jump. Your levels had lots of those.

This part was repetitive; you used the same ground structure three times in a row.

Yo should move that thing one tile lower so it's attached to the block.

Get rid of this part (from the boss room), it's useless.

Even if this is a demo, you shouldn't keep the original text.

Also, you should remove the magikoopa from the last level, it wasn't really problematic, but it felt really out of place. Fill the empty areas with other castle enemies instead.

I hope this helps you.
Here's an update, fixed a lot of things.. Download

Haven't tested in quite a while, so here goes.

The title screen has rather ugly ground palettes. It's good that you at least made it clear what the background is and what isn't, but the specs on the dirt look rather... dirty. Also, the file select screen has a strange palette, but that's really minor. If it's not easily fixable, don't.

I would reccomend fixing a few minor spelling issues on the title screen. The link points out the mistakes.

The overworld and Yoshi's House are fine. I would reccomend adding a few decorations in the water though.

Goombatch Island 1: Overall, the design of the level is not too shabby. However, there's still a very lacking amount of enemies. The most noticeable moments of that showing off are here, here and here. Please change it, because those parts are REALLY boring to play through. The level in general is a little devoid of action, even for a first level.

Huh. Between levels, this happened on the OW. That could just be me and my emulator, because i'm playing on Snes9x 1.52, but if that's also happening to other people, fix it because it looks glitchy.

Goombatch Island 2: On one hand, this level does try to be a little more exciting and does so pretty well, so good job on that part. There are some rather strange oversights and glitches though. Here's a small list:
-Really minor cutoff on the vines right here.
-You can make the Koopa shell clip through the slope.
-The flying platform pushed me into the slope and killed me.
-Might be just me, but this abyss feels a little unnatural and unfair to me. It looks logical to me there will be a platform down below, but guess not.
-Blind jump. Please refrain from making those.
-Ehm, okay? What's the point of that triangle block?

Goombatch Island 3: Eh. I might as well make a section for dull parts because it seems that every level has them. Here you go. I would suggest moving or removing these top pipes because the Piranha Plants below end up in them and never get out. Finally, I have to point out the slightest of annoyances by saying that this bush cuts off with the edge of the platform. It's extremely minor but very easily removable. The level itself is really lacking in terms of fun, sorry.

Goombatch Cave: I don't have a whole lot to say about this level, but it suffers from randomly placed objects that serve absolutely no purpose. Check this link to see what I mean. Otherwise, it's not that bad, better than the levels i've played before.

Boom's Castle: This level is not bad at all! The design is pretty good and most things work as intended. There are a few minor blips, but they are not as big as they were before. Just be sure to add another Dry Bones or Bony Beetle here, and like in Goombatch Island 3, the Piranha Plant gets stuck in the platform above. The final issue of this demo is that the Underwater theme plays when you beat Boom Boom instead of the correct fanfare. That's because of the custom music you inserted (did you?) messed up the order. Just mix and match and see what choice is the one that fits.

A final detail that i'd like you to change is that almost every level does not have 5 Dragon Coins, which is rather incovinient as they serve no purpose at all now.

Good luck fixing these errors. The hack does show potential but for now it's much too boring to be enjoyable and with easily changable oversights.
About the OW, i just forgot to fix the paths, the dragon coins will be added, and these errors will be fixed. About the spelling errors, i just forgot to fix those.

Can't be bothered formatting this... Enjoy the slab of text!

Hi,
I really need a better way of starting these reviews...

Disclaimer: I didn't read anyone's else comments, so if a glance over something someone has already said... meh.

Anyway, there were so many I needed to make an HTML document just to show them all off.Is this against the rules? I mean it's either this or a stupidly large comment... Don't worry, this might sound scary, but most of your issues are just Nitpicks.

What is this HTML document though? The following document contains ALL of the pictures (Figures) used in this review. If I refer to something and add 'See Figure X,' you'd look at figure X in the document. Hopefully not too complicated...

>Picture Gallery is here!<

Onwards!

Major Issues

This hack didn't have too many major issues, the main ones I could find were:

- Bugged Overworld, See Figure 8 - [MENTIONED]

- Walkthrough-able pipe, from Goombatch Island 2, See Figure 11

- Grammatical errors in the intro text, See Figure 12 - [MENTIONED]

- Bad level design in Goombatch Island 3, See Figure 14

- Bad tiling in Goombatch Island 2, See Figure 15

- Castle lights do not spawn in Boom's Castle, See Figure 18

- Goombatch Island 1 felt very clustred and cramp. Ideas were thrown left are right. I suggest toning it down. In this case why was the Triangle block introduced in the first level? I mean, most SMW hackers would know what it does, but if you are going to make your hack feel polished, maybe tone back on the things in the first level. (See Figure 21, I guess...)

- Boom Boom's boss room is too small, See Figure 22

Minor Issues

This section will list every issue seen in each Figure, which hasn't been mentioned yet.

Figure 1's Issue: Bonus star graphics use the same graphic as Mario's head in the NSMW style status bar. I suggest remapping Mario's head graphic.

Figure 2's Issue: Minor Cut-off, fixing it will give your hack a more polished feel.

Figure 3's Issue: The Jumping Piranha Plants jump up into the pipe's above them and thus don't come back down.

Figure 4's Issue: Semi-Blind Jump. Add a coin trail or something. The bush does give a rough idea, however, it's not obvious where the pit is.

Figure 5's Issue: Minor Cut-off, fixing it will give your hack a more polished feel.

Figure 6's Issue: The palette of the Title is a bit of an eyesore...

Figure 7's Issue: Minor Cut-off, fixing it will give your hack a more polished feel.

Figure 8's Issue: [MENTIONED]

Figure 9's Issue: This area is a bit of a semi-blind jump. Again, a suggestion is to add a coin trail.

Figure 10's Issue: Introducing The World's Useless Vine!!

Figure 11's Issue: Pipes are annoying to work with... If you want a slope block-fix thing, I'd suggest THIS🔗. (I wish more people used this block...)

Figure 12's Issue: REDRUM -er, I mean, errors are marked in red...

Figure 13's Issue: That's a nice Triangle Block you've got there...

Figure 14's Issue: Already mentioned, so... yeah...

Figure 15's Issue: See above...

Figure 16's Issue: WHAT DOES IT MEAN!

Figure 17's Issue: You used Wood Blocks for everything else in this level, but you use Turn Blocks here. ???

Figure 18's Issue: Hey, who turned out the lights

Figure 19's Issue: Incredibly Nitpicky The birds are in front of the score counter. (One will notice, but me...)

Figure 20's Issue: His name is Boom Boom, not Boom.

Figure 21's Issue: Confusing to 'new' players.

Figure 22's Issue: Getting close and personal with Boom Boom.

Figure 23's Issue: Blind Jump. I need my coins.

Figure 24's Issue: Minor Cut-off, fixing it will give your hack a more polished feel.

Figure 25's Issue: The Amazing Flying Hammer Bro., gets a bit too close the ground. Maybe move him up slightly?

Figure 26's Issue: Only two Yoshi/Dragon Coins in Goombatch Island 1

Figure 27's Issue: Why are there Ice Blocks here? Is for the Bro.? Then why are they behind it?

Figure 28's Issue: One-high water acts oddly with Mario, try ducking in it... Also cut-off.

Figure 29's Issue: Why is the yellow palette slightly darker in this level?

Figure 30's Issue: I don't think chandeliers have Cut-off in them...

Figure 31's Issue: Yellow Switch block from Direct Map 16 (meaning it will always be active), also there was no Yellow Switch Palace in this Beta.

Think that's everything... Done.

Hey, all the problems was already, i just not have uploaded. I do not know if you noticed, the topic is a few weeks ago, and I did not answer the topic anymore to dedicate myself to fixing the errors.
About the title screen colors i feel that the colors are good because I believe that the colors combine.
