Nintendo just announced a Direct scheduled for 9/13 at 3PM PT/6PM ET. Will focus on upcoming 3DS and Switch games.

45 whole minutes lads. Who's ready???

45 minutes, oh boy! Hoping it's mostly Switch information.

Edit: Japanese direct is 50 minutes.

I more expect them to talk more about games that are already confirmed, some games being revealed. (Mostly indies)

Since they mentioned to focus on Switch & 3ds, we can expect a small chunk to time dedicated to the handheld.

But I'll watch it with zero expectations, I more imagine this direct going as the ones when Satoru Iwata was still around, melancholy English speaker talking some details in a corny manner. Eventually influencing me to X out and wait if GameXplain posts anything remotely interesting.

I personally doubt that they'll reveal any Indie games. I mean, they literally had the last Nindies showcase like one or two weeks ago.

They will undoubtedly show at least a few new games, though. This is traditionally the time of the year where they do, and the run time of 45+ minutes indicates that.

Youtube auto-tagged Super Smash Bros. WiiU/3DS into the stream page

Weird. It's probably a mistake, but youtube DOES automatically tag games according to the video footage and what the creator types in.

Most likely situation: Actual Smash Wii U footage is used in the direct but only for the purposes of showcasing the upcoming Nintendo World Championships 2017.

I wouldn't mind a Smash 4 deluxe on Switch, though.

As a side note: we won't be seeing any mobile related stuff on the direct as confirmed by the Japanese page. So we're gonna wait a bit longer for Animal Crossing and Zelda for mobile to be revealed.

they gotta give us those E X C L U S I V E S
"Quit, don't quit... Noodles, don't noodles...You are too concerned about what was and what will be. There is a saying: yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present." - Oogway
But its a stream, how youtube would know the video footage? #smw{o_O?}

I'd go with a mistake, because apparently it also takes whatever you have been streaming in the past + what you submit.

As for expectations:
- Mario Odyssey
- XC2 info maybe?
- That sexy Kirby 3ds title they have been teasing since the start of 2017
- Mention of EOV somewhere.
- M&L:SS
- I don't know if Metroid 3ds is out, if not, expect info about it I suppose.
- Dunno what else, probably Skyrim lol

Add Kirby to that list, someone said Nintendo would announce the new Kirby 3DS

That was me. My uncle actually works at Nintendo. They will also reveal the new Pokémon MMO coming to the Switch in this Direct. It's still very early footage, though. It'll probably be at least one or two more years before it'll be released.

He does have Kirby 3DS in that list???? Also no Metroid 3DS isn't out yet.

Also yeah I'm sure most of those titles will be shown. Adding to that list:

99%:
- Pokemon USUM, surely. We barely have any sort of info of the game right now so I imagine they'll be dropping an infobomb on it.
- FE Warriors, new character reveals and shit.
- ARMS and Splatoon 2 DLC. New ARMS character is probably releasing after the direct, as they said that it would be released some time mid-september
- Amiibo shit.
- SNES Classic edition stuff
- Third Party games reel.
- Zelda DLC pack 2 trailer.

Maybe:
- Kirby Switch and Yoshi Switch info (coming early 2018).
- Platinum Games have been teasing Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta related stuff for Switch. Announcement incoming?
- Video services for Switch, or just new non-game features.
- Along with the line above, a firmware update for said features.

Low chance, wishful thinking:
- Smash, as potentially leaked by Youtube.
- Metroid Prime 4 trailer

Hoping for a Smash Deluxe announcement, see where that leads me.

I just want a new Donkey Kong Country game, some Mario platformers other than Super Mario Odyssey, an announcement for Bravely Third, and maybe an announcement about the Switch getting a port of the Crash N. Sane Trilogy. I feel like pretty much everything else is a lost cause.
let me know if anything regarding kirby 3ds is revealed, maybe kirby switch

i have never watched grey's anatomy i just ran into this guy's wikia article while looking for pictures of kirby with lion features

BREAKING NEWS:

King Dedede tests positive for steroids:

Uber ASM confirmed

Mario Odissey looks better every time. I'm also hyped for Octopath Travelers now, I didn't care much about it when it was first announced, but now I really like the art style and concept of the game.

I actually kind of want Minecraft 3DS Edition. Don't have the right portable device for Pocket Edition so why not.

The funny thing is that some being out there actually seems to have listened to my criticism towards Bravely Default, because what I could see the battle scenes in that trailer was an "order bar", showing you which character goes next. I'm not sure if you still put in all commands at the beginning of a turn or immediately when your character is next. I personally prefer the latter, though as long as we can see the order, I can live with both. Aside from that, they did seem to adopt one of the better features from Bravely Default, the Brave system. I'm curious to see how the gameplay will turn out in the end. The art style does look amazing, though. Now I only hope they story won't be lacking because of the game's seemingly "open" nature.

Yoshiatom's Post
Figgured I'd give my thoughts on what's been showed off during this direct, doing it in the order that the headlines and spotlights are listed on Nintendo's website. (well, only the ones I think are worth talking about)

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon: I have to be honest there wasn't much of interest being shown off, UB Assmebly looks cool though (while the other new UB is too abstract for it's own good), but's with the Pikachu island? I get that Pikachu is the series mascot but haven't Nintendo been critisced before by overdoing with Pikachu?

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: I'm no RPG fan by any means, nor I have I played any Xeno game, but this really failed to impress me. It seems really generic with it's anime artstyle and combo of Generic Anime Protagonist (Shulk seems like a much more interesting character in all aspects, but again I've never played a Xeno game) and skimpy female co-lead, plus the voice acting is dreadful in the sense that none of the voices sound like they're coming from the characters they should be comming from. The dull narative during the Direct didn't help in the slightest.

Project Octopath Travler: This game, on the other hand seems far more interesting. I like the idea behind the highly open nature of the games, plus the "HD 2D" artstyle. I couldn't really judge the gameplay during the Direct but I think I'll give the demo a shot.

Super Mario Odyessy: Just watch the Direct. Really, this game just keeps looking really good and bringing out suprises.

Kirby Battle Royale: I think Star Alies overshadowed this game a lot, but I think it'll be fun even if it does seem a bit on the simple side.

Minecraft New 3DS: ...seriously? Is this there some demonic enitity that can only be kept at bay by porting Minecraft to everything that has a processor? I expecting this port to be pretty limited if I have to be honest.

Mario Party Top 100: Considing Mario Party Island Tour was pretty mediocre, this game seems to be a step in the right direction although I hope they bring back the old boards as well. Personally I don't mind that's on the 3DS even though everyone seems to want it on the switch. Really the only way they could screw this upis if they added as many luck-based games as they could. #tb{:p}

Metroid Samus Returns: yes

Orange New 2DS: Was an announcement for this nessicary? I could have sworn they've shown of this colouring of the New 2DS before, so it's not like it's a suprise or anything.

Splatoon 2: I kind of wish they did something more interesting with Kelp Dome, but it's nice that the game is getting more maps (there was a real lack of maps on at launch) and the new map looks interesting.

Morphies Law: The concept behind this game is pretty interesting, but something about the gameplay looked unpolished. Maybe it's just the low framerate but I hope they can polish the game up more.

Arena of Valor: Okay, why does every MOBA (HoTS is like the only expection) look the exact godamned same with their Fantasy setings? You could take a screenshot from this game and claim it's from DOTA or LoL and I'm sure no-one would think twice.

DOOM & Wolfenstein 2: Now this was the biggest suprise for me during the direct. I've been wanting to play the new DOOM for ages and although I'd stick with the PC version, it's really cool to see developers taking the Switch seriously and porting AAA titles to the platform.

Nintendo Arcade Archives: It's nice to see Nintendo's somewhat obscure arcade games being remade, but unless they're going to be sold in Namco Musem-style collection I think I'll pass on buying them.

Kirby Star Alies: Nintendo seem to be taking some of the best ideas from earlier games and mixing them up (i.e Super Star's Helper system, Return to Dreamland's multiplayer, Kirby 64's ability mixing.), and it looks good! My GF said Buff Dedede was the worst part of the Direct. This is goning to take a toll on our relationship

Overal I thought this Direct was good, even if I sounded critical during this write-up. also sonic forces' level design is still looking shit from the few seconds we saw of it in the direct

The Direct was fine i guess. Odyssey still blows my mind even though I thought that we've seen most of the stuff yet.
The Kirby game for the Switch got a name what is good too.
Octopath traveller looks fun.
Minecraft for New 3DS for... whatever reason.

NO SMASH 5 OR TTYD REMAKE OR SM64 HD OR SPLATOON 3 WORST DIRECT EVER :ANGERY:
