New to Super Mario 64 Hacking

As the title stated, I am new to SM64 hacking, I am basically starting today. It is something I've been interested in for a while, but haven't tried it until now. However, I am curious of a few things.

1. How does one go about creating their own original music for SM64, and importing it?

2. How do you program your own things into the game. E.g. the new power-ups in last impact, and the timer for how long a cap will last in The Green Stars.

Some basic tips would also be appreciated. I am very excited to attempt SM64 hacking, all knowledge is appreciated.

1. There are currently two ways of going around this. The first way is using SEQ64, which I'm currently making a tutorial series around (the first part is linked here), the other way of going about it is with the XML Importer included with the SM64 Editor, however it's not as flexible as SEQ64.

2. You can use Simple ARMips GUI by David to create your own MIPS ASM programming. To learn MIPS, you can watch this tutorial series by BigEar Boi (first part linked here).

If you want a list a tool, you can check out the Tools thread I created here.
