A not long ago, in a galaxy
near, near the earth....

Good morning.
Hello.
Good evening.
Good night.
wake up.
Nice to meet you.

Long time no see. How have you been?

I think PIXI is not bad.
However, I couldn't be satisfied with that.

I think that abandoning the response of the old tool seemed a little rough.
However, the sprite section is steadily moving forward to PIXI.

In this situation, I think that it's regurgitation to publish new tools from the current flow.
So, this is my selfishness.
Because this is boring selfishness, people who do not have time will recommend not to read this.

----- GIEPY -----

Q. Why giepy?
A. PIXI -> Clefable ... Because I degenerated this....

This is an sprites insertion tool for Super Mario World.

----------------------------------------
Features
----------------------------------------
  • This tool can insert up to 1024 sprites in the ROM.
But, However, there are some sprites that can not be placed by Lunar Magic,
so the actual number you can use is less than this.
  • This tool can insert normal sprite / shooter /generator / initializer / scroller ,
    extended and cluster sprites.
  • You can insert any kind of sprite for all numbers.
(Exclude extended sprites and cluster sprites)
  • This tool is compatible with TRASM and ASAR sprites.
In addition, this tool automatically detects these types.
  • The initialization patch of this tool has a strict checking function,
so it is easy to detect conflicts with other tools.
  • It is compatible with Vitor Vilela's SA-1 patch.
  • This tool has a powerful library search function.
There is no need to call the library with macros anymore.
  • The main program is written in C language.
Therefore, the executable file size is small and fast.
Installation of the runtime package is also unnecessary.
  • In addition, it has several command line options and uninstall feature of the system.
Let's delete it when it is not used!

----------------------------------------
Known issues
----------------------------------------
  • Extra bytes feature is incomplete.
Changing the length of Extra bytes breaks sprites.
    (So I hid this feature.)
  • There is a problem with silver pow switch processing.
Use of the silver pow switch causes a crash.
  • Some sprites need to be reworked.
This is because the implementation method is different from the tools so far,
there is no way to deal with it.
  • Because the design stance of the library is different,
PIXI's sprites must be modified before it works.
(It is possible to cope, but I don't want to do it because it is troublesome... Is it no good?)
I plan to create an option.
  • Automatic generation of custom tooltips is not supported.
  • Overworld sprites can not be inserted.
  • There is no CFG editor.
  • There is no manual.
  • json file can not be read.
  • I have not tested this enough.
There may be a lot of bugs.
Vertical level has not been tested at all.
  • I don't understand how to use a new kind of sprite.
Even if asked, I do not understand.
I can't answer it even if asked how to use it. Don't ask me.
  • I don't understand 65816 so much.
  • I'm sorry, my English is not good
  • Sorry. :p

Because only bad reports are reported, I put some hidden features in this tool.
If you have leisure time, please try looking for this.

I can't hold it much longer
this is definitely neat. a bright start 2 a hopeful future.

looking forward to seeing further progress on this.

Seeing a spritetool that works with both trasm and pixi sprites is a dream come true to be honest. I have a lot of vintage sprites that I was sad I'd never get to use, since I don't know how to convert them, but with this it seems as though the conversion will no longer be necessary.

Welcome Back!

Cool, thank-you!

Captain Toad is returning to your SNES.
cant wait to see this one finished!
Can't wait for sprite remoderation 2.0!

Tool looks great, including the actual visual representation which is rare for SMW tools.
I'mma let you finish, but Daiyousei is the best sprite tool of all time.

Nice. Hopefully, this will prove useful to a lot of people and be continually improved.
well, that will make people's life easier, since they doesnt need to convert,
the sprites to make it work, also, the prompt looks easy to understand.
I hope you'll be able to fix the issues soon.

Keep up the good job. #peace #smrpg{y} DMBros.
Excellent job, ramen <3

I need to read PokéSpe and Electric Tale sometime
The Pkmn manga seem way more interesting than the anime and main series games (Mystery Dungeon, Pokkén and the Gamecube RPGs are cool)

Looking forward for future updates (bug fixes, CFG/json editor and extra bits for the most part).

As long as the tool is useful and your English is understandable that's all that matters.

If you need help setting up a manual, I'd be willing to lend a hand!

Technically, you'll have to alter PIXI sprites a lil bit due to how calling the routine library works, but yes.
Im officially woke

Even with the downsides, its still cool!
Another giant leap for smwc. You have outdone yourself.
#smw{:TUP:}
First an object tool, then this... This is cool, I hope to see this finished.

The unusable sprites in Lunar Magic are intended to be used as projectiles or something like that?

Yes, I know I have a bad english.

I'm currently developing an 8-bit like hack. Check it out if your heart desires.

This, very much this.

Looking the features, looks like a promising sprite tool. I hope you'll keep going with it!

This, the bugs so far and the incompatibilties with PIXI make me uncertain of this tool, still going to use PIXI.
But I hope that you'll be able to improve this tool in the future, and creating an entirely new spritetool (PIXI is based on Romi's spritetool) surely must not have been the easiest thing possible.

Also, this tool is able to insert TRASM sprites, but is also compatible with the More Sprites patch and SA-1, so does it convert the sprite before inserting?

Have you ever wanted to play ASMT on something better than ZSNES/Snes9x 1.51, or even on a real SNES?
oh and A2MT too
Tag (div) was not opened.

I mean PIXI's also incompatible with almost everything that isn't made for it and pretty buggy as well so...

Also this is the first release, so please understand that it'll still be rough around the edges.
Not saying you should abandon PIXI with the release of GIEPY (a fully stable release is more important), I'm merely explaining.
I do agree with lion about the usage of PIXI, but with a lot of work, GIEPY should be able to reach new heights. After the sprite tool's done, I'll use it. In the meantime, nice progress, 6646.
Another sprite tool? That's certainly unexpected!

Pros:
  • Always interesting to see alternatives to existing tools that try to achieve similar things in different ways.
  • The features so far sound nice.
  • Probably going to open-source this on your GitHub at some point, I assume?

Cons:
  • If this tool is submitted eventually, someone might have to moderate it and that certain someone might or might not be lazy old me.
  • Initial version not named after a dictator; could use some more controversy for clicks.
