I really like playing computer games on a TV using a controller. It provides an experience similar to playing a video game on a console.
I've never had any problems connecting an HDMI cord from my computer to a TV until now. On every single TV until now, including my TV in my college dorm, the TVs on the first and second floor common rooms of my college dorm, and the TV in my house's basement, my computer's desktop always appeared on the TV.
But, for some reason, the picture keeps glitching out whenever I connect my computer to the TV in my house's living room. I had to unplug my PlayStation 4's HDMI cord to plug in my computer. But when I plugged my computer in, a message on the TV said, "Putting the PS4 into rest mode..." and all that stuff. The picture was also slightly glitched. There were weird jittering horizontal lines of colors on some parts of the screen.
But that's impossible! I unplugged the PS4! And it's off! I plugged my computer
into the input my PS4 was connected to. The PS4 is not there anymore! The TV should have no knowledge that a PS4 even exists!
How come my computer's desktop isn't showing? What's going on? It has worked on every other TV just fine!
