Super Smash Bros Ultimate on Nintendo Switch

Seems like a lot of characters are getting changes and buffs to their movesets if you look carefully enough.

Also.

So happy that a lot of my mains from past games can all be found in one package.

I think the roster will cap at 70 with 5 more new characters and a few new in terms of echo fighters.

Anymore than 70 is like... that would be insane.

There is a good list of documented changes all from E3 footage right here.

Since it's from footage of the E3 build, not all characters and changes are listed and some of these changes might be altered to some degree or even removed in the final build anyway.

Also, yeah I don't think we'll get more than 10 newcomers. At best, I can see them revealing one new character every month until release or something.

I would definetly love it if you'd start with just the original 8 characters from SSB64 and unlock the rest as you go.

That's actually a good idea!

This is exactly how it will be in the game according to the direct. You have to unlock EVERYONE. This is both good and bad.

- Every single tournament setup will need every character and legal stage unlocked. Sharing save data is not possible on Switch at the moment. So I assume there is a universal unlock everything code for tournaments or something.
- There may not be as much singleplayer content. Unlocking everyone might be a way to pad out playtime for casuals but this is just an assumption.
Knowing Sakurai we'll get Classic, All-Star, Stadium, Training, and a new way to unlock trophies, but that'll be it for single player content. Maybe Event Matches, and if we're lucky Master Orders...

Do you think that Smash Bros Ultimate will reveal more or less newcomers?
My guess for total newcomers is three not counting any echo fighters. But I'm a pessimist with a tinfoil hat so take that statement with a grain of salt.

I think with 5 months left before the release of the game they might reveal around 2 more newcomers. Even 3 would be fantastic, and I hope they bring more as DLC
Will Snake's Codec Messages and Palutena's Guidance return? I really like those and I really hope they're in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Is there a demo of the game on the eShop, yet?

they showed us
king k rool
then
faked us out
but it actually was motherfuckin
k rool
so we were double bamboozled and many heads exploded during the direct
This game is now a 9.5/10 for me and will be a 10/10 if
Geno
is a playable character.

Also
Shadow
as an Echo Fighter would be icing on the cake.

Holy hell that was exciting. I didn't expect
everyone except Chrom
so those got me even more hyped. Now i'm really curious
what that hidden mode is. Could it be a more expansive stage builder??

One thing that is getting out of hand is the amount of people memeing to get Waluigi into the thing. He's literally been confirmed as an Assist Trophy, yet still 25% of the people find it neccesary to whine and complain (or sorry, 'joke') about the lack of a completely overrated and not much more than filler character. I love how Nintendo does not listen to those people, instead those who've patiently waited for
K. Rool or Chrom
.
Just what is the deal with Waluigi?! Why do people want him as a playable character so bad? I mean, come on people! We have Ridley. RIDLEY! He was one of the most requested characters for more than a decade, and he's finally in! Aren't you happy that Ridley is in!?

Why don't we see as many people whining and complaining that Geno or Shovel Knight aren't playable characters?

Latios is right. Waluigi is just a filler character and doesn't need to be playable in Smash Bros. Ridley is a much better choice. Then again, I think Echo Fighters are even more of a waste of slots than Waluigi.

Yes, I watched this video and read this article.

Luigi has become too mainstream so Waluigi took his place as the underdog of the mario franchise. That's why people like him.

Remember before Luigi's Mansion, people were clamoring for a real Luigi game (ie, not Mario is Missing)? It's exactly like that.

That was one hell of a direct. The amount of content in this game is almost overwhelming. I'd be completely satisfied with the currently revealed roster as it is if the game launched like this.

All my favorite competitive and casual stages are there along with a stage hazard switch, Simon, Chrom, Dark Samus and K. Rool all look real fun to play as. Final Smash Meters and new Special Smash modes bring an interesting new twist. It's all turning out to be amazingly good. And even then, there's still more to be revealed. Can't wait for launch now.
Well, I just watched the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct. It was AWESOME!

But I'm really curious about something. At 12:44, a bunch of rule settings is shown. One of them is "Custom Balance" with a picture of someone crawling in flames. What in the world could that be? They didn't explain that in the video.

We don't truly know but it's speculated to have some attachment to the rage mechanic once you get over 100% damage or whatever damage percentage that starts at for Smash Ultimate.

>Roughly 900 music tracks

Not gonna lie, that alone blows my mind more than anything else at the moment. As far as I know, the current longest video game soundtrack out there is MapleStory, which "only" has around 660 original tracks at the moment. Absolutely insane.
