Ripped tilesets

Hi! This question is for the graphics moderators. I'm ripping a foreground from a game, but I would want to edit some things I didn't like (basically, change some pixels to avoid cutoff and/or improve the quality of the graphics) / add some 16x16 tiles that were not used in the game but, in my opinion, add to the gameplay/aestethics value of the foreground. My question is if this "adaptation" of the tileset would still be accepted in the graphics section, or if I have to stay 100% true to the original game graphics.
Submit it as an original tileset instead.
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?

Yeah, I thought about doing that, but like 99% of the material is ripped, and the rest is edited. It would not feel right for me to tag it as original. Also, the modifications I made are really minor edits (as I said, basically erasing/adding some pixels to avoid cutoff, and maybe in a couple of cases reimagining some 8x8 tiles).
Honestly, before you do anything, I would probably get a hold of the original author and see what he thinks about this.

I'm assuming this is an asset from a commercially-released game. If so, the original author is very likely not available.

I think you should submit it as ripped. IMO ripped with minor modifications is not enough to reclassify it as original. Just note it in the description.
Yeah, I was thinking that would be the best option. Thanks Noivern!

danwaleby, is as Noivern said, I don't think much can be done regarding the original autor search.
I assumed it was another smw hack, my bad
