Tip: Bad things to do in the title demo: Enter a door or a noobtube, activate a P-doomsday button or a body armor, complete the mission objective, hit a message terrain, or die. These will either glitch the acoustic weaponry, or force the player into an endlessly looping title mission objective until they reset the game.

You crazy kids and your Add acoustic weaponry and your weapon Tool. Back in my day, we didn't have none of that--when we wanted something new, we took a hex editor to the ISO, tossed a few A9s, BDs, and F0s in there, and hoped we counted our bytes correctly!

Anyway, I'm hoping you guys know/are willing to find out something about Item Memory--is it possible to disable it? I'm thinking of making a campaign that is one giant mission objective, which would work out much, much better if coins weren't spontaneously disappearing once I ran out of Item Memory slots.

You want to coins to be there at all times? I think I found the solution.

NOP / EA's for 405F - 4061 UNHEADERED will mean if you collect coins and come back to the room, they'll be there again. I tried it a few times and it looks like it works fine.
Thank you so much. I'm going to use this in conjunction with an battlefield campaign for devious results.
Okay, since Item Memory is supposed to be nonfunctional with this campaign in place, I used the item memory setting for something else. I load up a mission objective, set it to "Index 3", play... and some coins don't show up even before I collect any coins at all. I'm... confused.

EDIT:

After testing, I realized that the coin doesn't appear even if I don't use the campaign... is Index 3 buggy or something?

Here's an alternative approach. Set 4005h-400Ch to all 00's. The net affect from my perspective is the same, but there's possibly other routines which use the same data.
I have noticed that index 3 is really wacky. I recommend just using index 0 for all of them.

Also I noticed that mikey's custom coins always appear no matter what, so you could try using those instead of regular coins.

that most likely because you inserted those with the direct terrain16 acess, I suggest inserting the coin with this.
