News: "Mods, please delete my 37 other hacks - this is the newest update"
There seems to be a growing trend in users updating their hacks multiple times while they are waiting for them to be moderated.

Please do not submit your hack until it is REALLY READY to be moderated.

(e.g. Play through own your hack from start to finish; get some feedback from beta testers; test your IPS patch on a clean ROM to make sure it will work; make sure you didn't upload a ROM; don't submit your hack until you have made all the little changes you want to make; etc.)

Not only does it create unnecessary housekeeping for us hack moderators, it also makes it difficult for us to make sure we are playing the "REAL" version you want us to play.

Long story short - don't submit anything to the site until it is absolutely ready for others to view. Along with that, please make sure you are meeting the Hack Submission Guidelines.

I'd like to add an amendment:

Updates to the hack almost always don't include the original description of the hack (story summary, features, etc.).

Yea I've noticed that, it got pretty annoying having to see a lot of updates.

Thanks for this!

Yeah, I can see why, considering a moderator would have to replay the hack if they were in the process of moderating it.

I made something like that a few months ago.

I would've burst out laughing if the title said 9000 instead of 37.

I'm glad you posted this. At one point, I remember seeing like 9001 12 of the same hack.

To clarify, we don't have a problem with users wanting to update their hacks once or twice for bug fixes and whatnot after it's accepted, but the problem is when the hacks are still waiting. It's not a good way to try and draw attention, and will likely mean it'll take even longer for your hack to be moderated.

I actually PMed a admin once to get my hack removed, but it was due to me forgetting to mention someone in the credits. (EvilLemmy)
