Forums are now open for READ ONLY. They are still buggy, but due to the long development, I decided to let you in early. Please don't report any bugs yet.
SNNedit: I'm in the process of setting up all of the forums + subforums, as well as permissions. Please don't panic or run to the hills or etc.
SNNEdit2: forums and permissions are now done. and yes, I will be adding a French forum once Kieran is finished up with the remaining coding.
Hey, question about Mega Man X6: Do the Nightmare effects happen only the first time you beat a stage, or do they change every time you play through the stage that causes the effect?
Also, does the Ultimate Armor cheat only work on a new game? And is that the only way to get that armor?

Spits out premade blocks ready-to-insert. Currently only makes 1 block: my block template. Useless, I know, but it's good practice. v2 will have lots more blocks.
Hey hey, Touhou isn't just bullet patterns, a few fighter games have also been made. The latest being Soku (UNL?) aka 12.3. (Which pretty much requires 10.5 unless you want to have only 5 characters to choose from.)
I don't play Touhou (I'm not a fan of shooters in general, although I might try one of the Touhou games if I could ever find a decent download link), but I do enjoy quite a bit of the music. I think Yukari's and...Kaguya's? themes are two of my favorites.
Essentially, a top-down shooting game where killing your enemies takes comes second and dodging difficult, intricate, and sometimes beautiful-looking patterns of bullets comes first. Also, incrediblyawesomeandepic-soundingmusic. And that's not even counting the countless remixes that havebeenmade.
Also, don't base your opinion off of the gameplay videos you see on YouTube. Most of them will be showing off the hardest boss on the highest difficulty setting, which will look something like this:
But most of the game (especially on the lower difficulty settings) is spent more like this: .
(Of course, it'll never be that easy if you play on hard or lunatic mode. Or the extra stage, for that matter, which trumps them both.)
Watch some videos on YouTube so you get the jist of how it works, too. Don't be intimidated by what might seem like complex and hard stuff, chances are it's a lot easier than it looks.
mockingod: Thanks, that would've been useful. I had already made an update before. I've added One Way blocks and P-Switch Blocks so Yoshi can't clone the P-Switch breaking the end of the level and Mario can't jump back up to the Pipe at the start. Here's the updated version:

By the way, what's the significance of some of the forum IDs, such as the International SMW Hacking forum (1755), the Art subforums (6700 and 6701), the Moderation of Hacks and Files subforums (4222-4231)? In any case, I'm really liking the new forum arrangement. But shouldn't "General Hacking Help" be titled "General SMW Hacking Help"?

I'm looking for a graphics artist and a musician to help with my RPG Maker XP project. I'll be doing most of the work (Events, Story, Level Design, Scripting, etc.), I just can't pixel draw or compose to save my life. (I don't want to use other peoples' resources. I'd rather be original)
Of course if somebody wants to help with level design or something I'll let them.
As I'm currently in Zelda 3 hacking (A Link to the Past) I played around with the editor a lot, and before I knew it, I actually bothered to make something..
This is the Sky Pyramid, used for the currently unnamed team hack by me and Bluemoon. The Sky Pyramid has a mystic bond with the pyramid on land, below the pyramid on the sky. The Sky Pyramid is very far up the sky, falling down may kill you because of the height. It is recommend to stay on the clouds.
Any comments?
P.S: Ignore the blue background, that's where the background will be, which I still need to make.
Since we have a Chaos board, we should bring back Forum Games so WoI isn't alone.
Also, looks like the moderation of hacks and files is getting a fresh start. :|
I honestly was hoping for someone to give this reference. Man, I love that song, possibly one of Iron Maiden's greatest songs. Although Hallowed be Thy Name and Somewhere in Time trump it in my opinion.
Rock music aside, the new subforums look great, nice and neatly organized. Looks awesome and I can't wait to post again in the forums, whenever that day comes.
molten: I think the whole fact that this is happening states that either we're not moving to kuribo for a really long time, or these fixes are for both sites or something. My guess is the first one.

Honestly, I don't see what enjoyment people get from hacking sites. You're not necessarily ruining anyone's life, just wasting someone's time, and your own. Hacking a site is pretty pointless in my opinion, and I am glad I missed what ever just went on here.
Also, moltensnow, I don't think adding to the flame is a reasonable action to take. Don't you think it would have been smarter to actually go get a mod instead of contributing to the mess?

Guys, shut up. I was yelling at some spammer. He said "U FOOLISHLY FOOLISH FOOL FROM A LAND OF FOOLS". So I took his words and replaced them with variations of the word spam. Jeez.
You can't use tiles under 500, you have to insert the exanimation file into the exanimation slot (super GFX Bypass, 7F at standart), then go to the 8x8 editor, press Shift+Ctrl+Page down to unlock inner gfx view and search for the exanimation graphics. Then you take the values (something above 600) and enter them in.

I can't seem to get ExAnimation working. I have all of the GFX set up correctly, and I'm only using 2 frames, making 1 8x8 tile. 8x8 tiles 18A and 18C. I paste the tile. Shows up as something still. Look back at the slot in the ExAnimation window. Both frames have magically become 500. How do I make it so I can use 8x8 tiles below 500?
They show up as a garbled mess. How do I fix that? Also, if I want to insert a homing bill, big bullet bill, and iced bill, would I put those in shooters or generators?
That's intentional. LM doesn't know how the sprite should look like, so it inserts a red X. It should look proper in-game.

Can anyone tell me how to insert a sprite? I insert it right, I used the extra bit, SpriteTool told me it was a success, but when I go to Lunar Magic, it shows a red X and says "An undefined Custom Sprite"

Yeah, Fakezor seems to have reregistered and advertised some virused site with porn in it while failing at HTML. The background wasn't working for me either, but it randomly decided to a few minutes ago, and it appears to be some nude lady. Though no mod is on right now, it should be taken care of soon enough...
Is the background supposed to have something. Anyways, someone (fakezor) was probably messing with the html. using some stuff. It says hentai in his post. But I only see white, and something on the top left.
ASM: I believe its because Terra Stripe, when replacing an existing image, does not account for Fastrom adressing, so it leaves the Layer 3 pointers, for example, as $138000 rather than $938000, thus causing a crash.
@ASM: Click the "News" button in the sidebar, and the "SMW Hacking Questions" article is the fourth one down. It got pushed out of the main page by this thing (there can only be 3 News articles on the main page at one time).
It's not a GFX editor, it's a layer 3 remapping tool. I've already edited GFX in YY-CHR, I just need Terra Stripe to arrange them, particularly on the overworld border.
I assumed Terra Stripe didn't apply any hacks since it's for remapping, but maybe it does, and if ExFastRom moves the long jump for the decompression subroutine, then that would cause issues. Weird thing is that it only crashes after I've applied new GFX. Strange.
It's not a problem with it uploading. I think it has to do with EXTREME FAST ROM.
I started with a fresh ROM and started adding stuff, and then would test Terra Stripe after each change. As soon as I inserted GFX (not ExGFX, just regular GFX) with ExtremeFR applied, then try Terra Stripe, it would freeze after giving me a message about the decompression subroutine.
I know I could just add the graphics before I applied ExFastRom, but the problem is that in order for ExFastRom to work, you have to apply it BEFORE you make changes in LM.
Woah, so many news. It was a little jarring when I looked at it, even though it's just a few small changes. There is one odd bug I noticed, but I'm not going to mention it for a bunch of reasons.
Looks like an improvement though, even if it's not finished.

Looks nice so far, Kieran! Luckily, my new computer came with a larger monitor, so I hadn't been having problems about that issue for a little while, but I still think it'll be a nice change to those who do have problems with that. I'm honestly not a fan of changes, but, in this case, it isn't really the same seeing as how most are an improvement. The only thing I'd say I don't like that much is the drop-down menu for pages...I mean, it's nice that it isn't huge anymore, but it just seems a little bland, and slightly weird in a way. I'll probably get use to it soon enough, so I'm not complaining too much.

Oh, by the way, I hope you change it so that threads with heaps of pages, such as the current or old Bar and Grills, have their page numbers condensed at the top like you did with the threads on a particular forum. Although, knowing you, this was probably going to be implemented sooner or later.
This is great. The funny part is I go to College soon and more than likely I probably will be more busy than ever before so by the time it is up, I'll be hitting books. But it is okay, I'll still post here and there...slightly. Also I will be hitting books because that's how they know you care.
