Usernames

I want to register. What are valid username characters?
0-9, A-Z, a-z, ', -, _, ., and spaces.
How do I change my name color?
Go to Edit Profile to choose your username color.
What does each name color mean?
Light Blue, Pink, and Purple usernames are the three selectable username colours, and they look as such when a user is active. Darker Light Blue, Pink, and Purple indicate that the user is inactive, i.e. hasn't logged in a month. Sometimes, these three colors will be temporarily replaced by a different set, such as during holidays.

Banned users have their usernames colored by the severity of their ban (Temporarily Banned, Account Disabled).

Italic Usernames are used to indicate that an account is either inactive, or is banned, and are used in conjunction with the above colours.
Why is my name color different?
During Halloween and the Christmas holiday seasons, the standard light blue, pink, and purple name colours are replaced with alternate colors. For Halloween, they are: Light Blue, Pink, and Purple. And for Christmas, they are: Light Blue, Pink, and Purple

On rare occasions, the usernames will be rainbow colours. These are used for various extra special events.
I see other colors. What do they mean?
Those users have custom colors. Custom colors are reserved for staff members and administrators, with a few exceptions, including former administrators and winners of specific contests back in the day.
What are the color codes for the default usernames?
#97ACEF = Blue User
#F185C9 = Pink User
#7C60B0 = Purple User
#657091 = Blue User (Inactive)
#925C7E = Pink User (Inactive)
#584A72 = Purple User (Inactive)
#A6D9DB = Temporarily Banned
#775555 = Account Disabled
I see an icon next to someone's name. What does it mean?
Icons allow people to differentiate the roles of many specific users in the site. There are many icons, and each one of them contains a description when hovered. These are the following icons that you will see here:

- this appears for users who have donated money to the site.
- this appears if it is currently a user's birthday.
- this is reserved for users who actively help the staff team in an official capacity.
- this is reserved for staff members of the site.
- this is reserved for staff members who are also section managers.
- this is reserved for the administrators of the site.
- this is reserved for the bots that run around the site for various purposes.
Can I change my username?
You can PM an Administrator whose role involves the userbase or DM them on Discord to request a username change, but they reserve the right to deny requests. After a successful name change, there is a cooldown of three months before the next one can be requested. Users are also given the privilege to display a different, temporary name during events such as the holidays.
My username has been changed to a number! Why?
It was either deemed offensive or obnoxious, so it was reduced to your user ID. See above for how to change your username.
Some users are in special groups like 'Team Välfärd' or 'Team Frog Warehouse' - what are these groups? Can I make one?
A team will occasionally request their own hidden subforum to aid in the completion of their hack, which we may grant if the project has picked up enough activity and interest.
Why are all the usernames colored like a rainbow?
This event occurs when something special happens. How it starts, and how long it lasts, varies, although it mostly lasts for a short time.
