- Don't submit an address unless you are 100% sure of its function.
Make sure that each address you submit works as described and doesn't involve unrelated parts of the game. - Give your submissions a proper description.
Descriptions such as "Tilemap related" are insufficient and should be avoided. Be sure to make your description detailed enough, such as the exact effects certain bytes have on the address. - Verify whether your address range is already submitted.
It's very common to people end up submitting an entry which is part of a (large) already submitted entry. Depending on case, it is either recommended you submit the whole address range with your new information or break it in smaller pieces if you believe they're not dependent with each other at all. - Don't submit addresses relevant only for hacked ROMs.
The purpose of the ROM Map is to hold information about only the original, unmodified SMW ROM. Refer to the Hijack Map for information about modified ROMs. - Don't submit hex edits.
The ROM Map is intended solely to document the function of code as it exists in the Super Mario World ROM. Modifications to data and routines should be submitted to the Tweaks Section or Patches Section. Refer to the Tweaks Section guidelines to determine which section is most appropriate.
