Today, 10 years after the first anniversary of LM, FuSoYa has released version 1.80 1.81 of Lunar Magic which some pretty nifty features such as a built-in backup/restore system, ability to use 4BPP OW palettes, work with a tile grid, ability to import and export overworld palettes and much more! Check out this thread for more info.
Attention: various bugs are starting to get discovered. Stick to Lunar Magic 1.71 for the time being! See the aforementioned thread for more info. 1.81 has been released, fixing the Map16 issues that were crashing roms using 1.80. Should be all fixed now but be cautious and make backups before initial use just to be safe!

Please welcome Camerin Neede to SMWC's staff team. As he is very talented with all kinds of music - extending as far as porting and composing - he will serve as a second music moderator to help keep that section in top shape.
Achievement Unlocked
Please see this thread in regards to the XBox achievement images.
After a brief conversation with SNN, we have decided to implement a new and very minor rule involving the use of ADSR.
From now on, ALL music submissions may not use a decay value greater than 7.
There are two main reasons for this. The first is that hacks that use Carol's $E5 more.bin cannot handle decay values past 7. The other issue is that no SNES song (that I've come across) uses a decay greater than 7, as it is (most likely) not actually capable of being done on an SNES.
Technical Information:
ADSR can be broken into two bytes; the Attack and Decay byte, and the Sustain and Release byte. The way these two values are put into one byte is through bits. In the attack decay byte the lowest four bits are used for attack. (which yield values from $x0 to $xF). The decay bits are all of the remaining bits except the highest. These yield values from $1x to $7x.
So basically don't make W in $ED $WX $YZ greater than 7.
It should also be noted that you may work with a partner this time around. That's not to say a solo person could not out-do them, but hey! Let's see how it goes.
