Hey guys, Hackjam #2 is coming up, as this is a strictly team-based event we've opted to open up the team assembly channels a week in advance so that everyone can get ready for the theme to drop on the 14th without having to rush to get teammates.
Those who carefully read the last sentence might have already noticed that I've mentioned a theme. Indeed, this hackjam will include a *descriptive theme* to help you kickstart your brainstorming process and spice up the event a little bit. Don't plan your hack too far ahead, now!

Summer 2024 SMWC3 Results!
Happy September! I hope no one has the September Scaries. If you do you can check out the results of the 2024 Summer SMWC3 to shoo them away:
For those who probably didn't notice, there's a new category for SMW hacks, the long awaited Misc: Puzzle
Our hack moderators will be periodically recategorizing the hacks that we find this new category would fit, but if you find a hack that deserves this new tag, please do not hesitate to let us know. The new guidelines for Puzzle Hacks are also live and can be viewed to learn what fits into this category.
So that's about it, have a nice day and do not forget about C3 voting period!
Hello! The first message is that C3 begins this Friday. Do not forget!
The second message is that C3 will have a forced scheme in-line with the event's theme. How fun! However, if you hate fun don't want to have this scheme forced upon you, we hear you, don't worry, no biggie, we got your back. You can now opt-out of event based schemes. All you need to do is go to: Edit Profile → Site Options, and tick the Keep preferred scheme option.
Have a nice day.
User Contests Have Returned! And More Forum Changes
You may have noticed already while checking out Super Famicompo 6, but we have just overhauled our contests & events section on the forums!
The big change is...user contests are officially back!! This time they will be hosted in our new Community Contests & Events subforum! Read the forum rules here and also make sure to read the hosting guidelines if you're interested in running a contest.
To go along with this change, we have split Current Contests & Events into two new subforums. Site Contests & Events will contain all the official site contests and events that are also posted on our calendar. Events Discussion & Feedback is for discussing or providing feedback for site contests as well as community contests. View the EDF(!) forum rules here.
If you are here visiting because of Summer Games Done Quick, welcome! We're happy you enjoyed the SMW hacks that were featured in the marathon, and are eager for you to see all the hacks, music, resources, and community.
If you are new, and would like some more information about how to get started playing SMW hacks, be sure to check out our Beginner's Guide.
Regarding the Relay: *takes off SMWC staff hat, puts on relay producer hat* We are not making the race version of the levels public quite yet. When we have a way of sharing them, we'll let you know, but we are also working on a Director's Cut that will feature additional content and expanded levels. That version will be submitted to SMWC, so stay tuned.
