News: An Unofficial/Official VLDC11 Compilation is happening!

If you haven't heard or seen by now, AnEvilGhost is working on a VLDC11 compilation! He already has all 111 levels inserted, and just needs help to get the project closer to completion and release. Here's the areas he needs help with:

-Overworld and Submap creation
-Switch palaces
-Music identification
-Bugfixing, especially overworld-related bugfixing
-and a few other aspects that come with compiling a VLDC compilation.

More specific information is provided in his project thread within the Works in Progress subforum. If you have any interest in helping out with this project, and seeing a VLDC11 compilation become a reality, please come by and see what you can do!

I think it's great that a user stepped up to make a compilation where I and others were unable/unwilling to do so, and this project, while technically unofficial, has the blessings of the SMWC PR Team and Admins. We'd love to see this project become a full reality, so I hope we can enlist people to help with those final parts AnEvilGhost needs assistance for!

News: Lunar Magic 3.20 Released + 20th Anniversary!
It's the 20th anniversary of Lunar Magic this year, and FuSoYa released Lunar Magic 3.20 to coincide with it! This release offers new zoom and filtering options, a button in the Level Editor to go directly to the Layer 3 Overworld editor, an external sprite display system, changes to the Sprite 19 fix, and a variety of other quality-of-life additions for Overworld and Text editing. You can download it from either our Tools section or from FuSoYa's website.

On a personal note, it's incredible to me that we're all still here, 30 years after SMW released, 20 years after the first versions of Lunar Magic, and 15 years after SMW Central was founded. We're still creating, still making levels and pushing the boundaries of what it means to hack Super Mario World. Where we are today all began because 20 years ago, THE tool to make all this possible came out. I've spent many years and countless hours involved in this community and SMW hacking, and we all have Lunar Magic to thank for it. Congratulations on 20 years of Lunar Magic, FuSoYa, and thank you for continuing to keep it updated and ever evolving. Here's to LM's next milestone anniversary. 🍸

News: 72hoKaizo #1!
You've heard of 24hoSMW? Well, meet it's new cousin, 72hoKaizo.

Participants had 72 hours to make a Kaizo: Light level using, essentially, VLDC rules. 3 days later, 56 levels were entered into this first contest of hopefully many to come in the future. The rest now lies in the hands of our judges.

Thank you to all for participating, and check back for results!
