Graphics Section New Column

Hey everyone! Pretty soon we'd like to roll out a new column in the graphics section to show how many exgfx slots would be expected to be used by a submission. We're asking for some feedback on it in the announcement thread here where you can read our current ideas and get a little peek into what direction we'll be taking the section in the future.

Rolling Site Staff and Helper Applications

We are once again opening up staff and helper applications, only this time there will be no time window to apply. If you've ever considered helping out around the site, check out this thread for the full scoop!

24-Hour Results Are Here!

I already had to write this for the Discord announcements channel. Does anybody even still read this???? Maybe I can say whatever I want #wario{-_-?}

What I do want to say is, results for the last 24-hour contest are here! And what results they are! Check it out here! Wow, I can actually link properly on the forums.

Logo on the bottom of this message I guess. I dunno! Leave me alone!

New Profile Privacy Features

#wario{<_>} Want your profile page to be a little more discreet? Resident coder  Telinc1 has added some new features to help with that!

Don't want people snooping through your post history? Now you can toggle it off in the Edit Profile section*! Any embarrassing trophies from years ago? Well, we're still working on that #smrpg{ohno} but you can contact one of our Trophy Moderators and they'll hide it away for you!

*Note that staff/admins can still view post history even if they're hidden from regular users.

R.I.P. Near (1983-2021)

We are heartbroken to join the thousands of people who are mourning the loss of Near.

Beyond their foundational work on bsnes and contributions to the world of emulation and classic gaming, we were fortunate to have Near as a member of the site offering both technical and personal advice to users interested in learning about ASM and classic console programming. Thanks to their efforts, we have the BPS patch format, xkas, and all of the tools built upon those foundations that they laid.

More than that, their personal contributions and willingness to help others inspired many of us to grow and thrive as programmers, designers and enthusiasts. Whether you were a professional developer or someone brand new to ASM, Near offered their extensive expertise to all they could, even it it meant digging into something new or unknown. Their loss is immense, not just because of the legacy of their work, but because of their legacy as a member of our community.

If you are having self-harmful thoughts, or are close to someone who is, The National Suicide Prevention Hotline in the U.S. is available 24 hours a day at 1-800-273-8255. A list of international suicide hotlines can be found at http://www.suicide.org/international-suicide-hotlines.html.
