The rules would be clearer if you just stated what we can do, but I get the point. Still, its not what people are used to, and will be disadvantegous to people who don't tend or just don't do vanilla hacking, while others who always do such will have a slight advantage.
Any who, might participate, depending on how exams pile up #smw{¬_¬}.

So yeah, will we be able to link to an IPS here, so we can be informed of rule breaking? I'm still unshure about the ExAnimation limitations, are we only able to mix FGs through GFX bypass, and not having an extra on exanimation, to mix files? Like sprite tilemap mixing only with the FG, to get 2-3 use full 8x8s.
Also, palettes? Whats wrong with those? What is considered making it aesthetically different? Making the grass look damper/dryer, as an example. I know that making it white so it looks like snow is not allowed, but to what point can we change them?

I think that this is done with good intentions, but it appears to not be having a good response...

It was expectable, what looks best in SMW? the forest tileset's trees.
Also, castle os rather versatile.

Are layer 2 levels without layer 2 interact allowed? technically would allow BG/FG gfx mixing, so yeah, don't want to mess up right from the start. I intend to use it to avoid cut-off.
Also, the bottom left from ghost house/ boat BG file... what is it used for? its just a curve, and I don't want to use it as something its not.

How can I get layer 3 to appear behind layer 2?
I have it on level mode 1, and I have the "force layer 2 above all ..." setting off. I'm using the cave rocks for layer 3, in case its a problem with that precise layer 3 BG...

Was saying that its more consistent already than mario games now a days, having him go through those good-old pipes is more coherent than just walking of the map.
Of course, it does look better otherwise, with vines and paths that mesh 2 maps together by taking bits of the theme onto one-another, but its harder design wise...

More precisely, the bricks and leaves...
Just replace the bricks for some other block and get rid of the 16x16 leaves here and there.

EDIT:
Would parakoopas droping into lava and walkin on it be an overly bad glitch?
Could just remove them, but would make that segment rather boring....

Nah, we just needed an artwork.
See, the idea of having platforms and such, layer3 BG, and dreamer herself not being the immediate enemy, etc. has popped out before, and people just go "yes, yes". Now it seems like things are being done, so people might be more motivated to code it?

Anywho, liked those ideas from the start, having floating platforms and emotion attacks.
