The only solution I can think of is to check if you set the right "direction to enter from". On the OW it has to be "top" and on the YI submap "bottom".

If it's not the solution then idk what to do

simply rename that smb3.roccon mario.bin file to gfx32 and replace it.
(replace it by pressing the green mushroom in LM)

You replace the original GFX00 with the new one.
GFX00 has a few tiles needed for Mario. That's why you need it.

You looked at the tileset specific sprites, right?
As the graphics of the sprites are stored in different files and not every sprite is compatible with Banzai Bill graphics(As it's stored in another file). So you can't have pokey and Banzai Bill in the same level.

Are you sure you pressed "save RGBs to Rom" or have turned of the "enable custom pallet" from the Level Drop-down menu.

First of all:
Dude, I hope you didn't try to insert that AllGFX.bin as the FG3 because that file is way too big. AllGFX is good for editing the original graphics and insert them via the green mushroom butoon.

About the second problem:
Yeah, that's because you cleared the tile that the ledge uses ingame. If you just want to replace the ledge for every level just edit the graphics in AllGFX.bin and insert them via the green mushroom.(DON'T delete any other graphics just replace the one you need).
If you wan't the ledge to look like that just for this level then you'd have to extract the files without the use joined GFX option. There you have to edit GFX 15 with yy-chr and save them as whatever ExGFX File you named it and insert it with the yellow mushroom. Don't forget to set that file as your FG3.
(Note that if you want to use that ledge just look at the picture here)

As far as I know there are two kind of pipes. One of themuses the name of the level which it is set to. The other one uses the name of level 0.
Star R(T)oad uses the name of which it is set to.

Did you also insert the ExGFX for the sprite?
If so: Do it.

Have you selected the right GFX in the Super GFX bypass?
If so: Do it.

Do you play with the "Special World passed" event activated?
If so: turn them off by changing the event that has to be passed for the changes to take affect.

If it's not playing in the rom then something went wrong while inserting. If the name of the song isn't showing up in the LM OW-Editor then thats totally normal. As far as I know there is a way to fix that problem but I can't recall how to do it right know.

While I'm at it:
Isn't a classical koopa included in spritetool?

You put it in the OW folder and then you copy the name of the song in the AddMusic.ini and don't forget to name it like this: *Song name*.txt.
If you did that and inserted the music then you just select the song number you inserted it as in the OW-Editor, save and test your game.

I'd also like to test hacks.
I'm always eager to end every kind of hack I started(Brutal Mario, etc).
Just no hacks with like super-glitched graphics.

Um.. that's not Yoshis Island 1.

Whatever. There's always a sampel level included. Just load that level and be careful not to overwrite an already existing level (Sample levels often use Level 25).
Then you go to your level and simply click on "Level -> Copy background image" and then you put in the number of the level where the sample level is. Also don't forget to put the Map16BG at the Map16 page you need.

Yep, I'll help where I can.

You go to Level 25(or whatever TEST level you want) and click on "File -> open level from file" and then you choose that sample level which is included in the zip file you downloaded. Next you foolow the steps I mentioned in my last post.

THe Super GFX Bypass is the red poison mushroom or "Level -> Super GFX Bypass" and then I think you should take BG1.
