You may have seen the post in the game's work in progress topic, but I'm going to mention it here too.
Mario's Nightmare Quest is now becoming a team project, since I realised it might be a bit more practical to work on this with a few more contributors rather than singlehanded.
Either way, here goes.
After defeating Bowser in his last attempt to take over the Mushroom Kingdom, the bros return to find the nightmare king Antasma has taken over in their absence, in revenge for the attempts of Mario & Luigi Dream Team.
Now it's up to the Mario bros to stop his evil plans, and free the Mushroom Kingdom from this tyrant's control.
Overall, the game is a full length fan game with about 70 or so levels set over 11 worlds. It's got tons of custom graphics, music, sprites, blocks and uberASM setups in said levels, and utilises things like LX5's powerup patch, plus the sprites on springs and platforms one for extra gameplay possibilities.

So that's the backstory. Here's what the project needs at the moment:
We need some more level designers able to design levels in the way Nintendo does in games like Super Mario 3D World and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, utilising 4 step level design as the core design principle there.
The project also needs a few more artists too, namely ones who can either create foregrounds in the style of MFGG's Kopejo and Super Mario Unimaker:
Or sprite graphics in the style of SMB 3 on the SNES/GBA.
Another thing that we'd appreciate would be some musicians willing to port or compose music for the game.
That's because a few themes don't really have appropriate background music right now, and a few bosses later on will need the appropriate background music for their battles.
Finally, while it's not super important (since I've been learning ASM for a while and am handling a lot of the coding duties myself), it might be nice to have a few more programmers on board too, just to speed up the development of certain mechanics planned for the game.
If you're interested in applying for any of those roles, send me a PM here, contact me via my website, or set up a DM over on Discord.
