Do I have to completely redo this part of the overworld? I can't find any path tiles that only cover the top or bottom part of the tile plus the little slopes needed to make it fit. Do the paths have to align perfectly?

Why is the Great Waterfall underground? I don't remember it being like that in TSRP1...

Anyway, if I have ONE major gripe about this hack, it's the difficulty. Don't get me wrong, it's a great hack and much more polished and professional than TSRP1, but at some points it's hard enough to not only warrant savestates, but to require them. It can get really, REALLY frustrating.

Alright, I fixed the path by doing this:

But now this happens:

What's going on here?

I have my paths set up like so:

But it won't let me pass the water level in the bottom-right. It's like that path going north doesn't exist at all.

Alright, I just fixed the path to look correct. It looks the same and it works fine. Thanks.

C'mon people, it's common courtesy to comment on something when posting a screen/video. You don't want people to cry about getting overlooked, do you?
@HyperBuu: That looks great. It might clash with the original SMW graphics though.
@Winter's Assassin: A good example of Redrawn graphics done right. It's simple but interesting, and the cliffs are just awesome.
@Lucario: I'm guessing your hack is going to be a kind of puzzle game. If used right, you could do something pretty amazing with those.

My still unfinished overworld, but much closer to completion. The events haven't been added yet (to be honest, I don't know how to put them in), but I'll leave them like that for the beta. That island in the middle is just decoration.

Actually, no. Mostly normal SMW stuff. I was originally planning to just make a hack using little to no ASM work, with a Mario Party theme, but my ideas got the best of me... XD Your overworld is nice, by the way, but it feels extremely small... It looks like you're only gonna be able to fit one or two worlds in that huge map. D:

I probably should have pointed this out in the first post, but I'm doing my hack episodically, kind of like The Forever Mystery. I'm working on the prologue right now, which will only be 7 levels not counting the one at the top (which will just be a one-screen level with a "display level message 1" sprite). It's my first hack, and you've only got one chance to make a first impression, so I'm gonna make it short and sweet.

Amazing. It'd really clash with SMW graphics, but I can see it working well with Redrawn graphics.

Too many clouds and rocks. It looks too cluttered. That ? island in the northeast looks interesting, though...

Theoretically, you could get into that pipe if you were small by jumping on top of the block.

Anime usually isn't my cup of tea, but Death Note is awesome. I found a site with 37 episodes up from a bunch of random subs and up to 35 in dubs that won't load on my computer for some reason. Episode 36 is subbed in Spanish, though, and I can't find it on Youtube.

Mello from Death Note, the only good anime I've ever seen.

Rhino's Treasure is one of the best levels I've ever played. Or at least it was, until I got to the point with the little triangles of note blocks above munchers with dino torches jumping across them. I was constantly saving and loading states, making sure each jump was picture-perfect, then just got frustrated and gave up. This is still one of the best hacks I've ever played, but please, PLEASE tone the difficulty down a bit for TSRP3.

There's a patch for that.

3 palettes is a lot for a background, but my god, that's so amazing it'd be worth it. I'm making my hack in short episodes, so I've got room for lots of palettes. I might just use that in one of my later hacks.

@Broozer: That looks awesome. I especially like the desert-ish palette. That cave looks interesting too...
Anyway, I haven't actually been sitting here twiddling my thumbs all this time... just most of it.

I accidentally edited the palette for the throw blocks and midway/goal points, but it's better than a wall of blue lava isn't it?
Also, Bomber King for the motherfucking win.

The time isn't really much of an issue since you're waiting for the auto-scroll/floating skulls 99% of the time, and it makes it so that the music speeds up when you get to the second part. If you've played the Midnight Skies level in Pandemonium Fortress, the music almost always speeds up when you get to the auto-scrolling part, so it gave it that "oh my shit that was AWESOME" feeling when you beat it. That's sort of what I'm going for.

It'll be tricky to design levels for this... I think Saph should be able to do a short little hop as opposed to not being able to jump at all. That way you could add some platforming elements while still using the shell slam for combat.
