I grew up with the 2000 design - despite my first OS having been Windows XP, it had an option to use the older styles which we had activated and I loved it a lot.
That's why I loved and grew with XP in my childhood - while it was good at that time, 2000's design is ultimately better and more simplistic and I also had a variety of colors I played with a lot. Vista was also an OS I appreciated but not very much due to the slowness. Windows 10 is just a system that caught my attention for obvious reasons, and I still have it to this day.
I wouldn't dare to classify VLDC compilations as "best collabs" without them being actually collabs themselves, but if I had to do it, it would be VLDC7 because my level is in it. It's simpler and fresh in terms of design and aesthetics and, in conjunction with that, has some of the most fun-looking levels around. I would go for organizing everything as such again.

I am hoping it becomes a collab hack.
I wouldn't count on it given the shitstorm that was trying to assemble VLDCX and its more than one hundred entries. There was a thread a while back that announced one auto-insertion tool so no hassle would happen, making things unambitious. I'm clueless as to how far that'd go, though.
2. How do I add a custom look for a tile? E.g. my own version of a death block or a block for blocking Mario but not Sprites. I knew how to add the behavior and it works, but not how to add custom "looks" to it.
An easier way would be going through (or YY-CHR) and drawing lines for blocks utilizing the palettes below. Since you want a death block, you can just take the bullet machine (tiles 2A-2B and 3A-3B) and draw white lines surrounding the tiles, but be cautious to not make it unmatch the resulting tile.
1. Have a pipe/door that leads to level E4 upon respawning at the midway entrance (I assume you already did that?)
2. Utilize the multiple midpoints patch and mess around with the .asm patches within. Note that this way requires Asar and is a bit more complex, so be sure to read the readme and you should hopefully run into no issues.
e: nevermind. It seems like you can redirect midway entrances to other levels now. Move on.
^ That would be true if it was several years ago, surprisingly.
< Is trying to create a SMW hack a while after having finished his latest hack, hoping to not fail miserably at it with enough motivation
v Submitted a level for VLDC12 (or just gave criticism)
Interestingly done hack so far. While it's not different from most hacks we've seen, this one has mostly varied and pretty stages, at least. I'm not a fan of strangely colored pipes in an environment like that, however - maybe utilize different assets to match that?
You could verify the possibility of a "fake news" by searching through the articles yourself.
Then again, as I said several posts ago, that vaccine isn't the only one and it's not known whether it'll get approved for a long time. It hasn't passed all tests yet, so what guarantees you that it'll be the official vaccine?
Also, my city underwent a 3-day "lockdown" this weekend. In quotations because the "rights to come and go" "justified" the return of hanging out by our justice the next day. However, the lockdown was kept and the commerce was still closed for the time being. What a mess.
