Tip: Don't place dragon coins near a goal post because they keep glowing when a level fades out.

None of you should consider the GBA Donkey Kong trilogy as members of the Donkey Kong Country Family. Those Three GBA games were so fucked up, it made the originals look horrible. No, horrible isn't the right word. I think hideous works better

Anyways, I disliked DKC3 the most out of the trilogy. Although the graphics did seem better than the two others, It just didn't seem to fit in as well.
I need some help making ExGFX for This Level's Background. I'm having trouble finding one that fits well, but my ExGFX making skills aren't that great in the realm of backgrounds.

I didn't post the image directly, for fear of stretching the thread. Also that's obviously not the entire level. I'm sorry for the grainy value of the picture
Hey, I'm Obsidian Serpent (obsidian from the rock, and serpent obviously from an alternate name for snake).

I'm not a newbie, but I'm not an expert. I know how to do all the basics, such as custom sprites and blocks, ExGFX, ect. The only thing I don't really know how to do (and probably won't for a while) is ASM stuff. I honestly don't think you need ASM for a good hack, but It's a nice added touch, so I'll try to learn.
I really like your overworld, I don't think I've seen anyone use the SM64 theme for an overworld!

If your ready for a beta version, I'd be honored to be a tester
Did you just say it's in a different octave?! Wow, your musically derived...

Anyways, you are right, it does sound different than the normal SMB3 All-Stars music. It was probably just edited a bit, since it wouldn't be that difficult to change the pitch of the notes by a few notches.

The ExGFX Hack...

Mario was in the kingdom and he has saw a Particular Pipe. Seeing how Curious this made him, he entered it. But it has took to a virtual world. Now he has to find his way aout

I haven't played this hack demo yet, but I am now. The hack can be found by clicking here

Edit: I played through it, and I don't think it's actually that great. It's okay, just not that good. The main thing that I hate about it are the palettes.
Okay, I was making a level when I encountered this problem that I just couldn't find any logic to. I was making some Layer 2 Mallets that smashed the ground, but for some reason, only one works properly. I used Layer 2 smash 2, and I didn't include any other generators in the level. Since it's kinda hard to explain everything that happens, I just made a short video. There's no music so that it would upload faster:
<object width="425" height="350"> <param name="movie" value=""> </param> <embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"> </embed> </object>
Anyways, please don't comment about irrelevent things in the video, such as other glitches and mishaps with my level. It's incomplete, so don't even bother pointing that stuff out. Also ignore the fact that the Slamming thing at the beginning goes below the floor.

Please help me!!!
oh... you're right. But that's really stupid... Why is it that it's screen number four, eight, 12, ect. that doesn't work? Why not three or five?
Hmm... Maybye it's something like one of the production manager's favorite number or some weird thing like that? I don't know, it's just a wild guess...

Anyways thank you cars 4 cars people
Do you know how much data that would take up? THAT WOULD BE HUGE!!!!

But that would be pretty cool...
<sarcasm> Why not take a crack at it, who knows, maybe you could make the next version of Lunar Magic </sarcasm>

Crap, My sarcasm HTML broke. Oh well... you get the point
There's also the predicament that most people would be unsure about doing a team hack unless if they know it will be good or not.

A person has no idea if they will like the plot or not

So could you add some information please?
I'll just post the image bigger... again, so that the extremely lazy people don't have to do anything

My only question is "What the heck is wrong with that piranha plant! It's got a head for a stem! I guess your trying to use the classic one? Please put in some ExGFX there if that is the case."
I found this pretty awesome flash video which has Micheal Jackson in pretty much every awesome game ever.

It's definitely worth the loading time.
I was trying to make a layer 2 level which included one layer 2 block that spans the bottom of the screen which you ride up to the top of the level on, sort of like an elevator (It's a vertical Level). It used the on/off block scrolling (When you have it off, it moves up. If you have it on, it moves down)

Once I started testing it, one of three things would happen:
1. The layer 2 block wouldn't move at all

2. The block would move upwards so fast that Mario can't move, and if he tried jumping, would be pushed through the gray block and would die

3. The block would move up just a bit, then speed down off the screen really quickly.

For some strange reason, I can't get it to cooperate with the on/off block at all. I decided to move onto a regular Layer 2 scrolling, but all I could make it do was #1 or #2 from earlier.

Could someone please help me with my predicament?
Wow, it's kind of scary that I remember seeing that Super Smash Bros. Commercial on TV...

It kind of makes me feel old, even though I'm not...

Anyways, check this out:
<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value=""></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
That sucks...

Anyways, is there any other way to create another type of layer 2 platform that will keep going straight up without stopping or slowing down?
I didn't think of doing it that way! Thank You!

* Runs off to try new way of thinking *
