Do you play online or singleplayer? I play exclusively online pretty much, just to stay sharp. I get in a few matches on quickplay just about every day. (My only real complaint with qp is that I get banned for a DC that wasn't my fault, but it hasn't happened much lately GSP doesn't really bother me.)

I play as too many characters to really be that good, but I think I'm best with Dr. Mario, Kirby, Piranha Plant, or Dedede. I need to play as joker more since I love SMT but there's just so many characters in this game. And now that Banjo-Kazooie is coming, just goddamn, I'll try and be good with all of them.
Of course, this guy. I thought shellos was so cute when I first played pearl, and when he ended up evolving I still thought he (she, was the first one I caught but I think it looks more like a male overall) was fine. When I played Pokemon battle revolution against my friends using my pearl team I wasn't good at competitive battling, so all my pokemon died in one hit. All of them, except for..

When I got better at pokemon and platinum came out I caught one and named it oshillos because I thought it was funny as hell and saying "osh" was the thing at the time. She still took hits like a champ, and mine happened to be sassy, so even some grass knots failed to kill her.

Gastrodon totally peaked in Gen5 when they buffed storm drain to straight up nullify water attacks and then grant a +1 special attack boost. I was so happy and used Gastrodon every single battle in the simulator Pokemon Online. It was the one pokemon that held my team together when I was (and still am) totally about hyper offense.

I kind of fell out of pokemon sometime between gen 6 and 7. I still played the games and bred good pokemon for fun, but Mega evolutions and Z moves were just a little too OP for my tastes, so I'm completely clueless about the USUM meta. Dynamaxing looks even dumber and even more OP to me. I wish it could just be a thing that I could ignore and try to enjoy the rest of the game and its meta, but if I can't even have my Gastrodon Oshillos, not even after I beat the game, what's the goddamn point?

I literally just typed out a biography of me with a single pokemon, I wouldn't have done this if I didn't love it. I love and embrace new pokemon, but being able to use older ones was never off the table until now. I know Gastrodon is obscure, but if he's going to be cut out in favor of fucking psyduck or some stupid shit time and time again because the pokemon company thinks he's less marketable, then fuck them, and fuck game freak. I'm doing my best to be optimistic for the future. At least he can't be cut out of the diamond and pearl remakes, right?
Well, I have 4 joycons and they all drift, it's kind of hard to play Mario maker comfortably if Mario just decides to fly towards the right of the screen and takes the camera with him.

Have you ever tried navigating the home menu when it accepts both sticks as input, and both of them are making the selection flip up and down between your games, the user selection, and the options all while running over to the "see all games" button. I've used up a few cans of air trying to fix them, but it always goes right back to the problem in a few minutes.
Don't try to say its not that big of a deal when it's legitimately making simple things in almost every game a hassle. That said, nintendo is offering to fix the problem for free, without proof of purchase, and without a warranty, so I'm going to try and send my joycons to them before I get angrier about it.

I actually really like the joycons, they're cute and the stick is surprisingly not bad for use with platformers, it doesn't make me miss the dpad honestly. It just straight up sucks that they have to be this way (not counting the poor wireless signal, my god. Lets go pikachu and TWEWY could have been so much better without the crappy reception)
I think Peach hands down. Even if Luigi can jump higher, the float is just better when Peach can just jump off of a slightly higher platform to equal to one of Luigi's jumps while floating.
If your joycons drift then you're not going to have much of a fun time in Mario Maker 2 either.
I'm going to say no, because they took out the Rave sound effect from the game. Sure, the game is fun, and I've enjoy my own making levels rather than playing others' levels, but when I'm making a level and remember that the rave sound effect is gone, I question why I continue to play at all.

honestly, I would go with Latios.
1st reason: It has a really cool name! I didn't even rename it in Pokemon: Omega Ruby.
2nd reason: When I first saw it, I thought "WOW that's really cool! I need it!"
3rd reason: Latias is second on my list due to basically being the same as Latios, but the reason why is due to my discovering Latios before Latias.
4th reason: It is legendary. Of course, that's a reason anyone would like Latios!

Oh, you definitely need to watch the movie with Latios and Latias, It's pretty good on it's own, but also notorious for giving everyone strange feelings for Latias.
I've probably said it before, but Tropical Freeze is probably the greatest platformer of all time. I still remember thinking the game was great, and then getting to the 3rd world which looked really dry and boring. I did a complete 180 as soon as I played the first level, now I think that level could be the best in the game, it could probably move me to tears. It's just so grand and whimsical and even inspiring, I don't know if I can describe it well, but goddamn, it's a good level.
Happy Birthday kyasarintsu! #smw{:peace:}

I admire alot of your opinions in the arcade thread in gaming since most of the time they align with my own. Hope you have a good one today!
I'm pretty sure Dream Team killed them. I've referenced this before but in an Iwata Asks article, they mention that the game took them so long to make because the spritework they had to produce was massive. Considering that they pretty much reused as much as they could after Dream Team and remade two games I think it probably took a big toll on them.
I didn't get that far in Dream Team, but it seemed like the game was just trying to follow the formula from Bowsers's inside Story too much. Usual M&L gameplay, then 2d segment, then a giant battle. Then when I saw Paper Jam Trying to show off the giant papercraft battles I really lost alot of interest.

Then the remakes came. As a total purist, When I saw that they had altered some of the enemy designs in the first game I just didn't bother buying the game. So, it had to have been my fault that they went bankrupt because I didn't even look twice when the BIS remake was announced.
Honestly, I think they should have had the 4 characters from metal slug join the battle over Terry. Terry's fine, but when I think of SNK my first thought is Metal Slug, not KOF. Just having Marco, Fio, Eri, and the fourth guy I forgot his name as separate costumes like hero would have added a bit more variety imo.

Not to mention that Marco Vs Snake would be one hell of a matchup. As far as cool matchups, Terry vs Ryu seems alright, but since Terry looks like a really buff pokemon trainer, him vs Pokemon trainer also sounds pretty cool.
SNES games on PSP are pretty playable, but not ideal. It sounds like a really bad idea to try and add SMW hacks into the mix.

If you like GBA games, the PSP has some of the best GBA emulation I've ever experienced. No lag at all, so it is the perfect way to play Mother3 and Rhythm Tengoku.
I loved the game, I played through it four times. I thought I would wait for all the DLC to come out to start the fourth run, but I couldn't help myself.
I let someone borrow the game, so now I really have no choice but to wait until the new classes come out. Hopefully they change things up a bit and maybe add some more story stuff? I haven't bought the expansion pass because at the time the contents were so vague but with how much I enjoyed the game it might be well worth it once all the stuff comes out. I've been itching pretty bad to start a 5th playthrough, I think I'll just do golden deer again. Maybe. Silver Snow was a really good path imo.

Golden deer Is my favorite house. I picked it first, because Claude was super hot, but since I couldn't marry him, I ended up going with Hilda.

Though, are you really calling the weapon triangle archaic? It's rock paper scissors, come on man.
みんなのリズム天国 (2011年7月21日)
Call me a weaboo but I specifically choose the Japanese version of Rhythm Heaven Fever because the NA version took out the manzai game and gave it one of the worst replacements imaginable. Tons of Great Games, tons of great music, it's pure fun; I think this is the best rhythm heaven game there is period. The European version has dual-audio but still no manzai, and ironically in this game the English vocals for the songs are great.

Catherine (7/26/2011)
Atlus' first HD game, a unique puzzle game from the team that made Persona 3 and 4. I think it sold tons because of sex appeal, but what really kept me playing was the story. The theme is romance and cheating, and many characters offer varying viewpoints on the matter, all while your decisions impact the ending reached by the troubled main character, Vincent.

Pokemon Black and White 2 (10/7/2012)
I'm talking about Challenge mode here, only unlockable after beating black2. I bought white2 after my nephew beat black2, so my very first experience was white2's challenge mode. It adds a new, unique pokemon to every trainer in the game. It wasn't any harder than most pokemon games, but dude, you get so much more content by doing challenge mode. The game builds greatly upon BW1 and has more pokemon, more characters, more great music. In my opinion, this is the last pokemon game that gamefreak actually gave a fuck about. The Pokemon World Tournament is hands down the greatest icing on the cake to the best pokemon game ever.

Shin Megami Tensei IV + Apocalypse (IV: 6/16/2013 Apocalypse: 9/20/2016)
I'm including both of these games because... ???
SMTIV was a good game, but the ending I got kind of soured my experience. It took me two more playthroughs until I got the Neutral ending. In the neutral ending, a majority of the sidequests become mandatory to finish the game, and in those sidequests I really started to see the game shine and it made me feel like the game was just as good if not better than SMT: Strange Journey. For their first 3DS game, it is very optimized and streamlined, atlus put alot of work into it.

SMTIV: Apocalypse (SMTIV Final in Japan) is a sequel to SMTIV with a new protagonist, The game adds really crappy, trope-y characters and story, and has one of the worst final dungeons of all time. But shit, the battle system was refined, balanced, and improved to the point where I consider it the best press turn system SMT has ever had. It also has one hell of a final boss.

Hatsune Miku Project Diva F + F2nd (F: 8/27/2013 F2: 11/18/2014)
I literally ran out to the store and bought a PS3 the day they announced Project Diva F was coming to the west. I played the first 3 games on the PSP in Japanese, they got me to start learning Japanese myself. Project Diva F focused on having new vocaloid songs that weren't in any of the games prior, and it has a great selection of music. When I finish playing PDF, I immediately pop in the disc for Project Diva F 2nd, because F2nd includes some new songs, but also has some of the best music from the original games on PSP on it. That's why I more or less consider these two the same game.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (2/14/2014)
I've probably said why I think this is probably the greatest platformer ever made at least 3 times on this site, I'll say no more.

Bayonetta 1+2 (9/20/2014)
I didn't even play Bayonetta2 until the game got re-released on Switch, the reason for that is because I was too busy playing Bayonetta 1. I seriously feel like Bayonetta has got to be one of the greatest games ever made. The music is good, but the action combat blew me away, there's lots of fun stuff you can do and look cool while doing it. They sure didn't fuck around when it came to this game's climax, the final chapter and then the epilogue were some of the craziest and most satisfying things I've ever experienced in a video game.
Bayonetta2... Doesn't reach those heights, but improves the already great combat, and the intense and climactic battles are epic and more spread throughout the game. Just look at the first boss in Bayonetta2, in any other game, this could be the final goddamned boss.

Persona 4: Dancing All Night(6/25/2015)
Most people will write this game off as the point where Atlus went overboard on making Persona4 spinoffs. They might be right, but this is still a great game. I was in the minute it was announced that the developers of the Project Diva games were involved. Great music and fun rhythm gameplay on top of a canon story that takes place after Persona4. (I actually don't know what happens because I bought and played the Japanese version, but the Free Play mode is the best part of the game anyways)

Persona5 (4/4/2017)
This game is great for reintroducing the demons from SMT as enemies instead of the lame Shadow designs from Persona3 and 4 while also actually making the dungeons in game fun to play through.
HOWEVER, I think this game has fucked atlus over, they probably put too much effort into Persona5, They haven't released a single original Megami Tensei game since then. They rereleased Strange Journey, Catherine, and next, Persona5. What the hell are they doing? I'm praying every night that they are going balls-deep into making SMTV the best game possible, there's been no news for the longest time, I can only hope.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (12/7/2018)
Everyone is here, The most balanced Smash game ever, and holy shit, it's Banjo-fucking-Kazooie. Game of the decade.

Honorable Mentions: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call, Kid Icarus Uprising, Super Mario Odyssey, Splatoon2: Octo Expansion, SMT: Devil Survivor-Overclocked, Undertale, Kirby Planet Robobot(Arguably should be on the list instead of persona 5 but I already typed it out. This is the best Kirby game ever tho)
Yeah Yoshi's Island DS falls flat on so many levels but none is as much of a disrespect to the series than the music, which has continued to plague most of the newer Yoshi games.I can't even believe I called in sick and missed a day of school just to play YIDS all day when it came out.

imo they shat on the series as much as they could with Yoshi's new island, retconning the ending to the original game only to create yet another mediocre adventure with terrible music.
I think the DLC is too expensive especially if you want it for both games, but since I can still get the new old pokemon for free without having to buy it, I'm glad they're doing it.

Here's hoping for any of the following: Blaziken, Lopunny, Mismagius, Ambipom, Lilligant.
I wasn't as #smrpg{gdi} as I thought, Byleth is cool and three houses is an amazing game. When that new story DLC comes out for it, I can't wait to do a 5th playthrough.

Byleth seems like fun to play as, too bad they didn't drop him right after the direct, It's gonna be a painful week or so having to wait for him.
I just play gacha games. The descriptions I'm hearing from you guys sound like generic one shot free top app games with ads.
Gacha games rely on trying to get money out of you for ingame currency to gamble on collecting characters. It's a crappy business model because if you get hooked paying money for a game, you could easily end up spending more than any sane person should ever spend on a single video game.

My favorite Gacha game is Dragalia Lost, it's actually very generous to its players and hands out a lot of free stuff. I actually wonder how they manage to keep supporting it because I almost never feel pressured to pay money. I like it more than other Gacha games like Fire Emblem Heroes because it has ARPG combat and coop with other players. There's a lot of character growth and customization that you earn just by playing the game, you could play this as intensely as a console game which is one of the reasons I enjoy it so much. It's made by the mobage masters at Cygames and published by Nintendo, so yeah, the main dude Euden could totally make it into smash. Better get acquainted with him now.

I have thought about trying Pokemon Go a few times. I just never bothered and don't usually go to very many places in general because of my work.

If they make a Pokemon Sit, then I'll likely be able to master it. lol

Get ready for Pokemon Sleep coming soon to an app store near you.
I played and finished Tokyo Mirage Sessions#FE too, I agree that I'm probably not going to replay it, but I enjoyed it alot. It felt like a slog for me at first, until I got walled by this boss I couldn't beat. I started doing the side stories and I was impressed by them. They were fully voice acted, granted your party members new skills, and even had optional bosses that had quality cutscenes that could even rival that of the main game.
By the end of the game, I was looking forward to unlocking more side stories just to see what new abilities or costumes I could unlock for the characters, who I thought were very likeable.

One think I didn't like that much was some of the story bosses, they seemed to be overpowered, even though I chose Normal difficulty. I found myself having to grind even a little bit before fighting any boss and it was a bit of a downer. It's hard to strategize against this when there's only 3 party members and one of them dies in a single hit to a boss. They won't act again until the next round, and by reviving them you wasted 1 out of two actions you had.
