Cool stuff. I'm not sure why, but I intrinsically have the urge to become excited for this, something that doesn't happen often, especially if it's just a minor hack, which means, to be more clear, that my super-ego (psychoanalysis) seems to have a connection to Donkey Kong and letting my Id (psychoanalysis) feel the desire for the emotion of being excited. Looks like Kaze's stuff makes me grow emotions. Holy.
Like how star road involved Bowser and taking the Star Road to get to him?
A good story in a hack might give a "new experience" and make it more interesting, but most people are more looking forward to cool new, challenging, varying levels, new abilities/powers, and more, while the story just plays a part-role in SM64 Hacking. I could be wrong on this though, but that's how I see it for a while.
The main problem I see with implementing stories in SM64 Hacks is that the way of giving an extrinsic motivation (= to play the hack because of the story) is pretty limited and not used in it's full potential. Reading dialogue texts by characters only, gives a way less empathic feeling of the story itself. And if that repeats and repeats monotonously, the story is lost in the subconsciousness of the person playing it and will mostly focus on the challenging levels and new abilities only. If people would make more use of the cutscenes, which Kaze demonstrated here: Engine test (Cutscenes in SM64), additionally putting in some dialogues too, it could increase the extrinsic motivation and the empathic feeling of playing the hack because of the story and seeing the cool, varying levels and new abilities as a nice and cool addition to the game and later reach the conclusive cognition that these go well with the story and thus make the hack, in their terms, "perfect".
Mh, that's really cool. Btw, just saw the code and the errors with c.lt.s etc. I'm gonna put that on my fix list too. I always wondered there was still something left to fix and you just found it. Thank you for that.
So, I've recently setup toadstool 64, I can easily change things to other things, but I can't figure out how to edit the geometry of a level (And if you could tell me how to add new objects would be much appreciated) So, please explain.
Hello, my dear friend.
Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure what good sir means, so I will assume. I guess, that you want to import a level, right? Or do you actually want to edit the vertices/surface/etc. of the already existing level? I assume you meant the latter option.
1. If that's the case, I have to disappoint you, as there is no way in TT64 (as far as I know) to handle editing the very geometry of the (imported) level. If you want to keep the original level, my best recommendation is to somehow export the level and instead manually edit it in Blender, SketchUp or any 3D model editor of your choice that is able to export edited file in .OBJ format, so it can be later imported with the importer.
I'm not an US Citizen, but from what I've seen, I would choose Trump over Hillary any day. Better a clown, than a criminal. It's kinda saddening though how Trump is portrayed as sexist, racist, etc. All things that have been refuted months ago already and yet all evidence is denied by ignorance, mostly coming from the liberal spectrum. As much as this hurts, that's what I've seen for a while and it's no different here in Germany.
We all could cry now about how poor Sanders is outta the run, but if you have to make a decision, make a decision and that decision is either Hillary or Trump. And I choose Trump, because Trump does not have a record of corruption, criminal activity (Libya, Syria, etc.) like Hillary does and actually aims to have a peaceful going with Russia, while from Hillary's perspective all are supposed to fight against the big Russian evil. It does not matter how the "wrong" one in this whole geopolitical game is, but someone who openly calls for war does not have the requirements to sit in such a high position. Thus, Trump would have my vote definitely if I were there.
MrPr1993, that's really cool art. But, in my honest opinion, you should not share them here in SMW Central. Explanation of the "Why" can be given through PM or on O64. Don't waste your talent here, you're destined for something bigger.
