What i'm mostly curious about if it's tolerable to show up with a very creaky demo that I wanna get feedback on, rather than just a straight up completed project. I feel like it wouldn't be.

The main "why not" is moderation. Bundling 6 different BPS patches would, from a moderation point of view, still be 6 individual hacks, and each would have to go through the moderation process which presents a whole bunch of logistical issues for moderators. Not to mention, you are only permitted a max of 2 submissions to the hacks waiting section (to keep the queue pressure down) and bundling would circumvent that so and will likely be removed (and before you ask bundling 2 patches/hacks is still not permissible).
This shouldn't discourage the idea, episodic hacks are a nice concept but your best way forward is to submit the episodes of your hack separately or host them outside of the hacks section so they can be bundled as you intend.

seems challenging to get that airbrush look in 16 bit pixel form but if u can pull it off, more power to u. im sure theres other ways to convey the style like color palette or w/e.

as what im sure u went through learning smbx, smw hacking just takes some getting used to as u gain the muscle memory and whatnot. theres things that are easier about it and things that are harder about it, so its probably something of a trade off. you'll find that theres a lot of weird quirks about doing certain things that just exist for whatever reason that u kinda just have to remeber are there.
