I would love to enter this contest but I hope this contest get's/has been approved I don't wanna start this contest only to see it get closed.

EDIT: BTW is it minimum 3 levels per overworld map (9 levels) or 3 levels for each castle since we're using all eight (24 levels)?.. Also I assume you mean just the koopa kid's castles and bowzers castle right not the fortresses?

I'm using Sunwarrior's nameless lizard (looks more like a dragon to me) character for this hack.. I'm very new to lunar magic but after entering a few contests and such i've decided to try and make an actual hack. The dragon's name is Boris (unless I think of a better name.) he's named after the Melvins song of the same name. Here's some screens of the first three levels.








Yeah that's probably enough screenshots for now although I do have the all levels for the first three worlds finished minus fixing a few bugs. No OW yet though.

How do you get Pokey, the rotating ball n chain & the urchin sprites to use a different pallete? Because changing it in Tweaker doesn't seem to work.

Thanks for commenting on the hack I'm glad you like it I was worried ppl were gonna find this hack kind-of bland. I only just found out about Lunar Magic last summer so I'm still learning how to do a lot of this stuff. As for mixing 8-bit with 16-bit graphics yeah I still really don't know where I'm going with this hack but hopefully it doesn't clash too bad. It's probably the choice of using smb1 lava/water graphics that throws it off isn't it? Do you think I should change that? As for the climbing gfx there's really not much I can do I'm not good at drawing my own graphics so I just downloaded this dragon character from the graphics section because I thought it looked interesting.

I never thought of that but you're right the tileset for the normal levels do kinda look like they'd better fit a castle.. Oh well. I chose them just 'cuz I thought they looked good and also I didn't wanna make the first world a standard grassland. As far as the story there's no real story yet (BTW don't look forward particularily spectacular story) and I'm not even exactly sure what the setting is yet.

Is it at all possible to get the Level Ender sprite that comes with spritetool to work with the bullet bill shooter? Because as it stands if you use the bullet bill shooter in a boss room with this sprite it causes the bullet bill shooter to create an endless stream of green shell-less koopas.

So then you're fine with just getting GFX from the graphics section? So then should I also claim a MAP16 page when I start making my levels? Also what if any custom sprites have you inserted into the base rom so far? and what are there sprite numbers?

When I apply the IPS patch it says "Graphics File is larger than it should be" and it doesn't work.

I know how to patch an IPS file every other IPS I've downloaded from this site works yours doesn't. MLITFETUF.ips is the one I used.

EDIT: Since I can't get your IPS to go and since I don't know what MAP16 pages everyone else is going to be using or what custom sprites everyone is going to use I just made this level completely vanilla. It replaces level 105 and uses levels 1FF and 1EF as it's submaps I hope I didn't choose levels that are already being used. I made it with World 3 the haunted woods in mind because it has ghosts and stuff. So here it is: http://bin.smwcentral.net/u/14451/Lost.ips

@Falconpunch You need the platform to get the mushroom/feather, the platform isn't there simply for the purpose of getting across the hole. The coins I'll move to the otherside of the falling block. I don't see why I need to move the boos just because you can spin-jump off them to get back up. I'll change the brown logs that just fall and replace them with grey ones. The self-explanatory one isn't really that self-explanatory.. What's the problem there? The ghost house music for the pipe exits was intentional but we're eventually gonna be using custom music anyways right?

@ EvilGuy0613 As far as claiming MAP16 one of the reasons I wanted to wait until we got ExGFX before we started was that if we're gonna get people to make ExGFX for us I'd really rather wait until I'd gotten some of those but okay I'll claim a MAP16 when I'm ready to make another level.

Alright I've got a new ips in my files: http://bin.smwcentral.net/u/14451/Lost.ips

I've changed the things I agree with in my original level and left alone the things I think are fine. I've also made two new ones (how many levels is each of us making btw?) anywho they replace levels 106 and 103. I've also used 1FD and 1FC as submaps. I've also used the MAP16 page 0x4 and inserted sprites "Flying Wriggler" and "Shell Brother" into sprite #'s 1 & 2.

Yes like I said in my post sprites # 1 & 2 have been filled with custom sprites. Also by the sounds of things you only played 103. I made a level for 106 aswell which is in the same ips.
