I would love to enter this contest but I hope this contest get's/has been approved I don't wanna start this contest only to see it get closed.
EDIT: BTW is it minimum 3 levels per overworld map (9 levels) or 3 levels for each castle since we're using all eight (24 levels)?.. Also I assume you mean just the koopa kid's castles and bowzers castle right not the fortresses?
I'm using Sunwarrior's nameless lizard (looks more like a dragon to me) character for this hack.. I'm very new to lunar magic but after entering a few contests and such i've decided to try and make an actual hack. The dragon's name is Boris (unless I think of a better name.) he's named after the Melvins song of the same name. Here's some screens of the first three levels.
Yeah that's probably enough screenshots for now although I do have the all levels for the first three worlds finished minus fixing a few bugs. No OW yet though.
Thanks for commenting on the hack I'm glad you like it I was worried ppl were gonna find this hack kind-of bland. I only just found out about Lunar Magic last summer so I'm still learning how to do a lot of this stuff. As for mixing 8-bit with 16-bit graphics yeah I still really don't know where I'm going with this hack but hopefully it doesn't clash too bad. It's probably the choice of using smb1 lava/water graphics that throws it off isn't it? Do you think I should change that? As for the climbing gfx there's really not much I can do I'm not good at drawing my own graphics so I just downloaded this dragon character from the graphics section because I thought it looked interesting.
I never thought of that but you're right the tileset for the normal levels do kinda look like they'd better fit a castle.. Oh well. I chose them just 'cuz I thought they looked good and also I didn't wanna make the first world a standard grassland. As far as the story there's no real story yet (BTW don't look forward particularily spectacular story) and I'm not even exactly sure what the setting is yet.
Is it at all possible to get the Level Ender sprite that comes with spritetool to work with the bullet bill shooter? Because as it stands if you use the bullet bill shooter in a boss room with this sprite it causes the bullet bill shooter to create an endless stream of green shell-less koopas.
