I'm surprised to see you made a fix to the Multiple Main Map Tracks patch; I had no idea the original version had that problem with exit tiles considering I will likely be using the patch anyway (I've got other asm stuff on my mind at the moment, but I am thankful you posted this fixed version. I'll check it out when I have time).

Seeing this fix makes me especially happy I created the diagram that is in the Useful Diagrams topic for using with this patch.
Are you using NMSTL (No More Sprite Tool Limits)? If not, you should set it up here (it should automatically be set up with SA-1), oh, and make sure you use sprite memory header 08. That should fix your problem.
Hey, just wondering if anyone here has played the harder mode of Yoshi's Cookie, that replaces the cookies with Mario themed cookies? In the Game Boy and NES versions, there is an option to play an exclusive BGM for this mode that oddly enough isn't in the SNES version, so I'm just wondering if someone could re-make this BGM with samples from the SNES version of Yoshi's Cookie, please? I've kinda wondered what it might sound like if it was in the SNES version, anyway, here's a YouTube link to what the music sounds like in the Game Boy version:

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I almost forgot a midi of this BGM. Will it do for note data?
The SMB3 hand sprite looks interesting; what are the odds that it'll drag the player into a level? I'm mainly wondering if that ratio/percentage is the same as it is in SMB3.

Also, just a minor nitpick with the hand, are you gonna get rid of the white area below it? It looks rather weird, considering it doesn't have that oddity in SMB3.

I don't really have anything to say about the save point, but about the FFIV airship, I'm guessing it allows you to go to a stage on the overworld that is otherwise inaccessible, but what happens to it after you use it to travel to another level, does it respawn? Also, can it travel from the main map to a submap, and vice versa?
This was definitely one of the best C3 events I can remember. I personally think the best parts of it were the return of Erik and Blind Devil, as well as FPI's news about TSRP3.

I think the success of this summer's C3 is a sign of great things to come in the future here; I guess only time will tell, huh?
You should probably play some of the hacks on the website, which depend on the kind of hack you are making (if you're making a Kaizo hack, it wouldn't hurt to play other Kaizo hacks just to get some ideas). Playing new hacks can help give you inspiration for your own levels.

I'll give you some recommendations for some of my favorite hacks:

New Super Mario World 1: The 12 Magic Orbs (or its revision, by Pink Gold Peach; this IMO is a must-play if you're making a hack with lx5's custom powerups in it)
Luigi's Adventure series by Anikiti (but be warned, his hacks tend to be pretty challenging)
The Second Reality Project series by FPI (I prefer the reloaded versions of his hacks)
Super Mario 2D Land by Alex No (one of my personal favorites)
SMW Returns series by KT (his hacks are just as challenging as Anikiti's hacks)

I hope you're able to overcome your creative block; good luck!
If you're looking to get the veggie sprite to work better, there is one in Sonikku's file bin that you can try (it is better than 1524's version). I'll link you to it since it contains both the sprite portion and block portion.

Here, and good luck.

Poyo! Erik! This place may look different, but there's plenty of secrets to still look out for. :)

Do the secrets in a linked game of Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages or Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons count?

I couldn't resist making a reference to these two games, since I am a big Legend of Zelda fan after all.
My username is related to the Legend of Zelda series in a way; you know how Link gains the title of Hero of Time when he collects all 6 medallions in Ocarina of Time? I decided to start a "rebirth" of sorts with Hero of Time, but not without changing Hero in this case to Knight (and on The PokeMasters, the other forum I have frequented over the years, I had the word Knight as part of a username I formerly had there (DarkPrince the Dark Knight). I eventually grew tired of that username, but I wanted to keep the Knight part, so I got a username change there to Knight of Time, which I still go by this very day, and that's how I decided I wanted my username to be Knight of Time here too).

And also on The PokeMasters, sometimes some people call me a shortened version of my username (in this case, KoT). You guys can use the shortened version of my username here too if you wish.
Erik, just wondering if you've thought of making Tsutarja's SMB3 boat sprite compatible with BOWSIE? He released it during the winter 2017 C3, and if you want to check it out, I have a link to the topic he posted it in. It would be pretty cool to see this made for BOWSIE someday, as a nice little alternative to using the airship.
I was noticing this problem too earlier today. I'm 100% sure it can be fixed, though first we're just gonna have to wait until the DDoS attack has passed (I know it sucks, but you have to have patience).

As for ZMZ, I am not aware of anywhere else where you can download it, sorry. Hopefully this'll pass by tomorrow or so.

kinda makes me wonder if my account is older than some registered users. I'd find it a little terrifying LOL

Well, I actually recall seeing someone whose account was eventually disabled because they were underage here (I think 13 is the minimum age a member must be IIRC). Mine is a little over 17 years old, so I wouldn't be surprised if there are any high school students here, considering I sometimes see high school students whenever I go into a restaurant for a fairly quick meal, like Dairy Queen or McDonald's (I generally pay little to no attention to them though).
Hey, so I happened to notice on SMWCentral's Discord that some of you guys are on Neopets, just wondering how many people here are fellow Neopians besides me?

For those of you that are (or were) on Neopets, what are (or were) your favorite parts of the website? In my case, without a doubt it's the new Quest Log page where you can do 5 of these 6 various tasks around the website a day, ranging from playing a game (one where you send a score), customizing a pet, feeding a pet, grooming a pet, spinning a wheel (Excitement, Knowledge, Mediocrity, or Misfortune), or buying an item from one of the official shops (can be 2 or 3 items as well). Doing the tasks is worth it, since you get a reward for each, and if you do all 5 tasks for one day, you can get a nice bonus of 20,000 Neopoints (and even better, if you do all the tasks for 7 consecutive days, you'll get a weekly reward too), and of course, there is also hunting for avatars (I'm personally up to 225 individual avatars).

So yeah, cheers to my fellow Neopians here.

Whoever you're talking about must've been banned after the rules were changed, because almost all of us were underage when we made our accounts. Pretty sure almost all of us would be banned if the current rules about age took place back then (we were all immature kids #tb{''})

That person I speak of is PokeOgnjen (I'm fairly sure they were banned after the rules were changed, since I haven't really kept track of when the underage rule was established. It...kinda brings back a memory of when I was in this anime-style Pokemon battling league on the other forum I frequent.

When I came into that league after being in an older version of the anime-style Pokemon battling league, there was a kid who was one of my first opponents there (I think he was just 10 when I battled him at the slightly older age of 22; I was happy to show him the ropes around battling in the league, but in addition to having to disqualify him from battle due to him going over the disqualification time for a battler to post before their opponent would call a disqualification, or DQ for short (the DQ time for a battle was usually one week, but we agreed for it to be cut roughly in half here; I think all my other battles had a DQ time of a week), he spammed fairly often and was known for being really impatient, and he was eventually banned as a result (though he made multiple accounts, those were also banned). That was one of the few times I won a battle by DQ; the majority of my battles were won by KO.

But yeah, can anyone imagine if we had our own Pokemon anime-style battling league here? I dunno if I can yet, since the one I was in required all sorts of people to keep it going (not just battlers, we had mods in charge of letting battlers select Pokemon for their teams, referees who had to pass a reffing test that changed every so often, and even tournaments from time to time). It's sadly a ghost town now, but it sure was fun while it lasted.

I do wonder what the average age of SMW ROM hackers is today though. I would expect it's gone up a fair ways, but with SMA2 then MM1 and 2 having brought in new blood it's hard to say where it's at now.

I have no real clue what the average age is here, although I'm pretty sure I am one of the people who is above that average (I'll be 42 next April).

I wasn't sure if I was gonna bounce back from discontinuing my old hack (Mario & Luigi's Double Trouble) when my first laptop kicked the bucket in 2009 (I'm now on my third laptop), but I have truly gotten back into the SMW hacking scene with a new hack that I'm happy to say has some areas already changed (I'm just working on Princess Peach's castle ATM, but with all the ASM and ExGFX I've accumulated, I'm pretty confident I'll be ready to post a slew of screenshots either in the Works in Progress forum or at next year's Winter C3), and I have you to thank for making Lunar Magic the great program that it is, FuSoYa.

And yes, when it comes to Nintendo, we definitely don't want to step on their toes. I've seen them shut down many fan projects, and if they targeted SMWCentral, Lunar Magic, or even you for doing something that they strongly disagree with, it would truly be heartbreaking. We have to avoid that proverbial mine field at all costs.
I personally haven't made a layout (I guess the next best thing I have would be the user bar that Tahixham made for me at one of the previous C3 events), though if I did, I'd probably want to come up with something Legend of Zelda related, since you know, I am a Legend of Zelda fan after all.

Other than C3, where would a layout request topic generally be found? I'm kinda curious.

This thread probably?

Yeah, that thread will do fine. Thanks for linking me to it Xulon, maybe someday I'll take a more in depth look at it before I decide if I want to make a request there or do a layout myself.

Not sure if anyone here saw my thread in reality corner, but things have improved. My family member is at a much more stable level and has returned from the hospital.

That's good to hear. Things have been a bit of a roller coaster for my grandma as of late (she's the only grandparent I have left), so I am totally understanding on how challenging a hospital stay can be; some days are better for my grandma than others, but I'm personally hoping she makes it to 90 years of age, which if it happens, will be in 2026 (none of my other grandparents lived to be 90 or older).
Happy (belated) birthday Erik!
Hey all,

Lately I was thinking of something that is exclusive to New Super Mario Bros. U that I wish someone here could please replicate as a sprite, and that is the Slide Lift. It's basically a pair of line guided blocks that go around a rectangular track, and while they can be helpful to the player, they can also be an obstacle that can be difficult to pass depending on their placement, and they can even crush the player against any solid surface, or even another Slide Lift, and they also block projectiles. I'm thinking that in order to eliminate as much of the potential jank as possible here, the sprite would need to have code to kill the player if it ends up blocking them in an appropriate direction, am I right? As an example used by another sprite, ShadowMistressYuko's reverse donut sprite kills the player if it pushes them up against a ceiling, so if someone wants to claim this, you can look at that sprite for a reference.

So yeah, if someone does decide to claim this request, I'd prefer its dimensions to be customizable so that they always use twelve 16x16 tiles in total (e.g. 2x6, 3x4, 4x3, or 6x2), including center tiles if the sprite was either 3x4 or 4x3. The sprite doesn't necessarily need to be line guided; I personally think it would work best if used with the line guided any sprite, although in that case, to make it truly replicate the Slide Lift, it would probably need to be placed twice in diagonal intervals in order for the sprites to slide against each other when they're moving, though I'll leave that up to whoever claims it, if this is claimed.

I can post a pic of the different dimensions of the sprite if desired, anyway, thanks in advance.

Edit: Just so I don't forget, here's a link to MarioWiki's page on the Slide Lift, which can be used as a reference.
Mario Christmas everyone (and if anyone here doesn't actually celebrate Christmas, I still hope you have a happy holiday)!

Anyone get any Mario themed stuff this Christmas? I know I did; I got Paper Mario (the original for Nintendo 64), the Nintendo Switch version of Super Mario RPG, the Super Mario Bros. movie on Blu-Ray and DVD (the more recent CGI version), and a Mario themed calendar.
