Fun. It must contain fun.

Bonus points if it has British voice actors, or British voices coming from spherical sentient robots.

I honestly don't like anime. Not a fan. But if you like it go ahead and watch it, I don't care. That's the great thing about being human, having different opinions and likes. Some people will like what I like, and some won't, no big whoop.

But it can get a little creepy and uncomfortable when people start acting and looking like a character from anime. What's worse is when someone says they're learning the Japanese language from watching anime.

It's a stereotype. People assume if you're older than 20 and watch anime, you're a fat slob with bad hygiene who humps an anime waifu body pillow while in the basement of your mommies house. >> I'm pretty sure in most cases that probably isn't true.

When people deny my request, I smash so much crap in my place to the point of re-buy and renovations whilst putting a curse on the denier. I can't believe people would deny such requests using lame excuses such as 'Oh I have a job' or 'Oh look at me, I have a real life and friends.' Meanwhile they just want to play gears of war, or solitaire.

/sarcasm

No actually I understand that taking requests is a big responsibility and is no simple feat. That's why I understood when user 17183 denied my music request, but golly gee willickers I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed.

I'm organized to the point of giving my folders custom icon graphics.

This has just gotten to the point of being comical. It's a simple block with a simple function: Mario can only pass through this block if he pays a certain amount of coins (10), otherwise the block acts solid.

I have tried many variations with this block and it just doesn't work. I used the Pay 5 Coins/Lives to pass block, and that didn't even work. It just acted like a passable block and didn't subtract anything from my coin counter.

I even created my own block and Mario still just ran through without paying. This should be simple, but it just refuses to work. Could the culprit be the fact I have the 5 digit coin counter patch installed to the ROM?

Thanks!
Apparently I had to change the address of LDA to $0F34 instead of the original $0DBF.

I used to be more into it. Now I just watch a new episode when they come out, or the day after. But the finale was pretty cool.

First thing I do is pre-plan, then set up all my folders with all the tools I need in an organizational manner. Once all is set up and looks nice, I figure out what patches will be applied (but this was during xkas days). Once I have all that ready, I just design the entire overworld, submaps, etc. with full paths and events implemented. That takes care of the visual aspect, then I select music for the maps. The patches, overworld and submaps are finished. Now I just create levels the rest of the time. Making up the levels and graphics as I go. It's pretty much a free-for-all at this point. After months of creating levels it's bug testing time and final polish.

But that's just me. I'm sure there are multiple ways on how to do things and in which order depending on what tools and assets you use.

I don't know if you've made a SMW hack before, but if you haven't I would suggest working on something not so complex. Start simple and build your skills and third party knowledge to advanced hacking.

What you're describing sounds like it would take a lot of advanced ASM to create. *shrugs*

I try to play without savestates. It seems to be a thing that when I watch LP's, people not using savestates make the game much more enticing because there's actual pressure and something to lose if they die. When I see LP's of people that are using savestates or rewinds it ruins the whole experience. Whenever I see someone lay down a savestate they just seem to bum rush everything and make tons of mistakes they normally would not have done. Or loading a savestate because they got hit and lost their mushroom is super annoying.

I can understand if the level is super hard though.

As long as the vanilla hack is fun and not too infuriating it would be great to play. But that goes with any hack created out there.

If you played my old version of Underworld which I hate, you should scrape that out of your mind because I completely revamped the entire gameplay. I mixed custom blocks with certain patches and the game feels a lot more like an actual RPG this time. Don't expect anything ground-breaking though. (And remember, it's a W.I.P., things are subject to change.)

With that being said, you can find the hack here.

originally I wasn't even going to release this, but what the heck. It's C3 right?

I started playing SMW on the actual SNES cartridge when I was a little tike, so probably in 1997~ish.

I guess I'll add my level to this thread. Hopefully it gets better than 49th place this time. This will be my 2nd VLDC I have entered. It's not too graphically enhanced, but I wanted it to focus on more of level design, rather than having the decorating distract from the level itself.

It's just fun to be a part of something that has 100+ people. The annual VLDC is like the Wrestlemania of SMWcentral.
